Yes, Dr. Mecenas is a quiet man. He did my Roun-en-Y Mar. 25, 2008. I chose him after researching several options within a two-hour radius of my home and found his reviews, experience as well as specialization to be the most desirable. There are some surgeons in the area that like to dable in wls but my instincts and experiences working as an RN told me that this was not desirable. I am very pleased with Dr. Mecenas handling of my surgery.

Hmmm, my first impression of Dr. M was that he's young. My age. Despite that he seemed very knowledgeable and more importantly he impressed upon me that he's not doing the surgery just because. Dr. M did not seem like most surgeons. He was only going to do the surgery if it was really necessary and provided I understood it's a tool not a solution. I was looking for a comprehensive approach to WLS and Dr. M's approach is certainly that. I felt I could talk to him even though he did not make me feel like he was warm, open and approachable; just very compentent and clinical. At this stage from my experience I'd have to say his surgical/medical competence is excellent. Beside manner cool and clincial has been my experience with him. rnHis office staff and other team players in general have been nice, helpful and approachable with the exception of Rhonda whom everything seems to go through. I don't know if its that she's pressured, rushed, stressed or if it's just her personality but she has generally been very curt with me and has shown me a of lack basic courtesy. However, I do not think any of this should detract from the excellence of Dr. M's skills, knowledge or team approach to WLS. It's one of the very few I've found that is comprehensive with a strong focus on aftercare.

First overall impression that I noticed was he had a very kind face. He seemed and projected concern and compassion. You can see all of that in his office staff as well. I have never felt so at ease in my life in a Dr's office. I have many appointments to go and I loved the way they work things here. It is not all rush, rush. It is easy going and you get a lot of knowledge on the surgery you are having. Follow up is stressed and I LOVED that. Overall I give him a 10. I have not had my surgery as of yet but I have NO doubt that the care I will recieve will be nothing but the best.

My first impression of Dr. Mecenas was that he is a quiet and gentle man. He seems to be very polite, caring and knowledgeable. I feel that the office staff is very friendly and very well informed. I think future patients should know that the number one thing that I noticed is that Dr. Mecenas is not only concerned about our pre op health but more importantly our post op health. He stresses the importance of following up post op with him.rnrnDr. Mecenas addressed the risks of surgery before any decisions were made by myself. I feel he was so thorough that I really had to let it all sink in because I really couldn't think of anything that was left unsaid. He covered everything slowly and kept asking me if I had any questions. I appreciated his honesty. rnrnOverall, my personal experience with Dr. Mecenas has been very good. I like his quiet demeanor and I like that he isnt trying to overlook the risks and dangers. rnrnWhile, I have not had surgery yet, I do not really know his bedside manner but his whole attitude and knowlege is good enough for me. I plan on going ahead with this surgery and I feel very well informed. I can not wait to start this journey on the other side.

First impression~ very nervous I thought Wow everyone loved this guy did I catch him on the wrong day? But after talking with him and others he takes his practice very seriously. And I feel he needs you to know that also. Everyone says he is wonderful, and I am sure he is. Hopefully I will see more of that at apt # 2.rn2nd apt very different~ Love this guy very down to earth, and understanding. He definatly knows what he is doing and has real feeling for his patients. rnrnOffice staff has been geat! very helpful even though I feel like a pain caling with all sorts of questions they don't seem to mind. rnrn

I have to say that the very first time I met Dr Mecenas I was shocked, I even asked him if he was sure he was old enough to be in the operating room let alone preform surgery on someone. I also remember thinking \"this guy has no personality, but boy did I learn just how wrong I was.. Dr M as he is lovingly referred to by a few of my fellow bandsters is so unbelievably kind, knowledgable and he does in fact have a GREAT personality and always puts my fears to rest.. I told him once that he was my hero, that he did for me what no one else ever has.. he gave me \"Heather\" back.... I adore Dr M and would highly recommend him... you just have to joke around with him because I think he is alittle shy at first and he is very serious... too serious at times! rn
