My first impression of Dr. Williams....he seemed so understanding. I felt very comfortable talking to him. He answered all my questions in detail, in a language I could understand. Not like some doctors that try to confuse you with technical talk. Then I meet with Lisa. She helped me to get all my "ologists" doctors lined up and all the forms needed. She explained what was next and made me feel very comfortable, because she too had been through all this herself only 1 year ago. She looked great! When I meet with Dr. Williams on my pre-op appointment, again he was very patient and understanding to answer "all" my questions. He again explained all the risks and percentages of problems. This office offers and encourages support group meetings. I have attended two prior to surgery and a physicians seminar that is mandatory for all surgery patients. I would recommend Dr. Williams to anyone interested in weightloss surgery.

Dr. Williams is WONDERFUL. Just heard that because of the Malpractice insurance premiums, they are not doing the surgery anymore.

My first impression of Dr. Williams honestly was .... WHAT A CUTIE! Now to the professional side of him. He is very kind and informative on wls. He explained all risks and all plus features to the surgery making sure you know all information to base your decision on. Your time with him is that, your time. He listens and answers anything you have to ask.
The staff there went through a fruit basket turn over during my approval process and I must say I feel they handle that very good. Not much delay felt my way.
My aftercare has been wonderful by his entire staff. Caring and sharing experiences. This aftercare is very structured and as long as you follow his guidelines, you will lose the weight.
Future patients, I reccommend Dr. Williams and staff they are a great bunch of people.

My first impression of Dr. Williams and his staff was a very positive one. He has been very informative and straightforward regarding the benefits and risks of gastric bypass surgery. During my initial consultation and recent post-op visit, Dr. Williams made me (and my husband) feel at ease and reassured about the surgery. I've found the staff to be very qualified and extremely knowledgeable of the surgical procedure, follow-up care, risks, benefits, and insurance requirements.

Dr. Williams seemed very knowledgeable but very busy. I haven't had much dealings with him yet. He sent me through testing and did the endoscopy. Seems very nice. Slow process though. The staff seems nice but very busy. Dr. Williams and Staff insist on the patient going into the procedure with their eyes wide open and they don't take your word for it. You are sent to a nutritionist and a seminar. Aftercare is a must with them.
Of course you are sent to all kinds of tests to insure that you are a surgical candidate. I thought things were progressing but apparently they weren't. No one called to see where the reports were for the procedures I had last November. I found out last week and I had to call the hospitals and Doctors to get them to fax them to him. You can't procede without them. I give Dr. William an excellent for Knowledge and thoroughnes but an okay for helping and communication. I think surgical competancy most certainly is important but bedside manner is as well. I tend to question the competency of an illmannered physician and I am sure most do as well.

Dr. Williams is a very down to earth tell it like it is dr.

He does seem to legitimately care about his patients, and really focuses on whether or not you're ready to commit to this life change and the risks involved.

His office staff is wonderful-espeically Julie.

If you're expecting ooy gooy he's not for you-he's just plain and to the point. I just wanted to know how it was, so that was fine for me.
(Dr. Rothwell is more the sweet and sensitive one. (this is my OPINION)-and he came to see me in the hospital and stayed around to see xrays and stuff when I had a few set backs.)

Dr. Williams goes over what you've got to do and means exactly that.

AFTERCARE IS CRITICAL.

Risks of surgery were basically EVERYTHING is a risk, you MIGHT do okay...are you prepared for the risks.

He did a great job on me and he checks up on you alot. I would recommend the whole practice to anyone.

My first impression is that he was professional and somewhat soft spoken. The staff was very helpful and kind. I will update after my 2nd appointment tomorrow. 10/29/03 I have been going to a support group that is not necessarily sponsored by the doctor however it has several of his patients. I feel confident that I will do ok because of my research into the procedure.

When I met Dr. Williams for the first time, I could not help but notice just how handsome he was. He sat and talked about my medical history, he did his exam and we talked some more. He is a soft spoken man and very up-front. His office staff, especially Julie & Barbara, are phenomminal. They know their "stuff". Several of his employees have had GBS so they know exactly what you are going through. There isn't anything that I did not like about Dr. Williams or his staff, they make you feel like a real person, they put you at ease and answer any question that you may have. Future patients should know that the Georgia Center for Surgical Weight Loss is incredible. Aftercare is a BIG part of the program in Dr. Williams office. As Julie put it to me "Dr. Williams is gonna be your best friend for a long time." Dr. Williams didn't candy coat anything about this surgery. He was up front in telling me the risks of having the surgery and the risks of not having the surgery. He explained that is is not a cure all and it was going to take work on my part for it to be successful. Overall, I could not have asked for a better surgeon. I fell that I have a very competent surgeon with a great bedside manner.
