Dr. Klonsky is an amazing surgeon. He did my RNY gastric bypass surgery on August 3rd 2011. He is so caring and takes time with his patients to make sure that each of your questions were answered. He is willing to sit with you as long as you would like to ensure that you know what is gong on before and after surgery. He has been a huge supporter of my weight loss and has amazing bedside manners. I jjust cant say enough good things about him as a person and as my surgeon!! Dr. Klonsky is moving to a new practice as of Monday and I am so happy for him. If you are a patient that used to see him and want to know where he is located please message me I am already setting up my appointments with him to ensure that i can still see him even when he moves. You would be lucky to have him as your surgeon he is experiened and he cares about his patients which is more than i can say about other surgeons that i have met in other practices. I am proud to be his patient and I am looking forward to continuing this journey with him!!! Here's the link to his facebook page like the page and you will get all his information about new practice on the information section too :)

Dr. Klonsky is probably the best doctor I've ever had. He was the surgeon performing my RNY and He was the doctor I had seen for all but one of my pre-op appointments (which was my first consult with Dr. Ahmad) and I have seen him for all of my post-op appointments thus far.

I had first looked him up online and researched him a little. At first I was a bit skeptic because he was younger and I didn't know how many of the surgeries he had done and since he wasn't at the informational seminar I had gone to, I wasn't sure how he was interacting with patients. With that said, my first impression of him was one of the best from any doctor. He is kind, respectful and funny. He went over his concern for me on being as overweight I was and put me on a pre-op diet and said he'd like to see me lose at least 30-40 lbs PRE-OP (which i did with his encouragement and guidance!) in order to do the surgery safely and not have to put a filter in my chest to prevent blood clots. He met with me once or twice a month from January to May. He was incredibly encouraging and proud of me throughout my pre-op weight loss and still is now post op. The practices aftercare program is great and I am seeing amazing success (I'm just over 3 months out and about 60lbs down, 112 total since December of 2010). He came to check on me in the hospital and make sure I was doing okay each day and was the last person I saw before I was discharged.

Everything about my experience with Dr. Klonsky has been nothing short of amazing. I really had the BEST experience throughout anything and I sing the praises of Dr.K to anyone who will sit still long enough to hear me. He is without a doubt my favorite doctor to see :)

Dr. Klonsky was the assisting surgeon for my RNY surgery, but I have only seen him for my post-op appointments. I love him! He's always nice and patient and he has a great sense of humor. Much better bedside manner than the main surgeon, Dr. Arif Ahmad (who is good, but less personable). I also love the fact that their center of excellence has coordinated care. I was able to do most of my pre-op testing right there at the office. (Specifically, I was able to do labwork, see a general physician for my medical necessity letter, have my pulmonary screening with the doctor they bring in once a week, and of course they have nutritionists and a psychiatrist on staff.) It was almost a one-stop shop and that made the whole experience less stressful, especially since I live 2 hours away.

Now, I do have one small complaint about this office overall. When I first started going for pre-op appointments, things were pretty organized and when I called I was assisted quickly and efficiently. Over time, the practice has gotten extremely busy and things seem to have fallen apart a bit. People have less time to assist you and I perceive a marked difference in Dr. Ahmad's availability and willingness to follow up with his patients. I trust Dr. Klonsky as much if not more because of his personality. My take on Dr. Klonsky is that he is an incredibly competent surgeon, but down-to-earth enough to be able to connect well with his patients.
