Jose Erbella Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

I met him at a seminar on March 4 2009 he seem really laid back and nice. My 1st Consault he walks in and gives me a big hug I was so shocked he is so great and helpful I couldn't ask for a better bond between me and my surgeon. The staff is also really helpful and so nice. I would rate him a 10!!!!

My first impression is that he is very knowledgable and very up to date with his information.

Dr. Erbella and his staff are great!!! Everyone is extremely nice and very supportive. They actually care about their patients. Dr. Erbella's bedside manner is the greatest Ive ever seen. Kris, one their nurses is very kind and sweet and I just love her to death!!!

I have been totally pleased with Dr. Erbella and his partner Dr. Bunch. They have been nothing but helpful and their practice has an excellent preop support program and good aftercare. About 3 wks post op, I had severe pains in my chest. They told me to go to the ER at Manatee Memorial Hospital immediately and would meet me there. I thought I was having a heart attack!! The ER staff took me right in and gave me numerous tests. Turned out to be a SEVERE GAS ATTACK. Dr. Bunch met me there and guided me through the visit.rnrnI would rate these 2 A+ and would not hesitate to recommend them.

I am a little behind in posting my review. I am 6 months post op and doing fantastic!!! Already down 70lbs! Dr. Erbella and Dr. Bunch work hand in hand with every case and I have always left feeling that they cared about my success. They are both wonderful doctors and I would trust them with any of my family members if they to needed some kind of surgery. Dr. Erbella and Dr. Bunch are just a hoot to be around and very knowledgeable. With out them I would be on a downward spiral out of control with my weight which ultimately would have ended in my death, but since having the lapband all that has changed!! Thank you Dr. Erbella and Dr. Bunch. The office staff that they have is wonderful. They remember who you are when you call to make an appointment and very friendly and eager to hear about your success. As for the SWLC in the hospital with Cathy and Michelle, they are wonderful as well. If I ever have a question I shoot them and email and sometime through out the day they get back to me! Thanks for everything girls!

From the first meeting with Dr. Erbella I have been impressed with the care and concern he gives. I am now 2 1/2 weeks post op and I am more impressed than ever .rn I love the feeling of family the office staff and Dr. Erbella and Dr. Bunch give. I have never had a better experiance with any other physcian. rnThe office staff at the surgical center are wonderful Michelle and Cathy are the best. Always helpful and easy to talk to. rnThe level of education that I received before surgery was impressive. They leave nothing to chance. You are given all the information and then you spend time one on one with the office staff and with the nutritionist to review everything and make sure you understand. The competence of everyone I have meet in the process has been greater than I would have ever hoped for.rnMy only negative comment I could make is I think it would be helpful to see the nutritionist before starting the 10 day liquid diet. So questons can be answered that you might have. And then meet with them once again right before surgery for post opp instructions.rnrnI had a question and sent an email to Dr. Erbella he responded almost immediately. He makes himself accessable which I have never experienced with other physicians. rnrnDr. Erbella is the best surgeon I have ever met his humor, experience and caring surpass all. My overall experience has been wonderful and I feel lucky to have such knowledgable and caring people taking care of me.

Dr Erbella and Dr Bunch are lifesavers, I am two weeks post-op and feel great already. I lost 10 lbs on my pre-op diet and 15 more since the surgery, that’s a total of 25 pounds in three weeks. I had the surgery in the morning, by the evening I was well enough to walk to a seminar they where having that day. Everyone at his office and at Manatee Memorial where very caring and supportive threw out my journey. I can’t say enough about the care I received. I highly recommend them for your surgery and life long care.rnrnUpdate 12/27/06rnrnI had my first fill last week and was it easy. I went down to the x-ray room where they placed my on some sort of fancy x-ray gadget. To my right I was able to watch on a screen as DR. Erbella inserted the needle in the port and added 2cc for my first fill. I only felt the needle prick the skin, you won’t feel anything else. No discomfort what so ever after the procedure. I have lost 35 pounds so far and feel great. Thanks again to Dr Erbella and his staff for the wonderful treatment.rnrnrn

I met with Dr. Erbella on 12/11/06. Dr. Erbella is AWESOME! I first met him at a seminar in November. He is so down to earth and caring. He makes you feel good about your decision but makes you understand the pros and cons of this surgery and life long changes you will have to make. His office staff seemed very on task. Dr Erbella and Dr Bunch are great from the first you meet them throughout the process they talk to you and are eager to help you rather than talking down to you.rnrnThey are interested in you, as you and not just a number.rnrnTheir Support Group lead by Michelle is excellent, they should be mandatory to all.

My first impression of Dr.Erbella was a very positive one. He is a very personable doctor who makes you feel at easy immediately. He has great interest in you as a person and seems to really care about his patients. rnrn I always enjoy going into the office. His staff is very accomodating and knowledgable. Even when I call on the telephone with a simple question I am not kept waiting long or if one can't answer a question they find someone in the office that can. rnrnDr. Erbella emphasized aftercare and the support group a lot during the first seminar where I met him. My husband always has been with me when I have attended a support group or an office visit and they have always been there to answer questions for him as well. No one is ignored. rnrnOverall I would rate Dr.Erbella very highly. He has a great bedside manner and he is a very competent surgeon. Overall I am pleased and I look forward to contining my journey with him and his friendly staff.
