Very knowledgable about the procedure. I trusted him completely. He had performed the open RNY on three of my friends and all had excellent results. Surgery went well. Aftercare was weak. Found out later that Dr. Curci has discontinued doing bariatric surgery due to the amount of follow up required. He is in practice by himself and the follow up needed on bariatric patients was too much. He was an excellent surgeon though.

Dr. Curci was very informative and made me feel that this would be a good choice for me. He answered all my questions and I felt comfortable with his statistics and risks involved. His office staff was helpful. He emphasized exercise and let me know exactly what would happen after the surgery also. He mentioned the support group at Doylestown and how it would be helpful to me.

Dr Curci is very straight forward, I like that. He didn't beat around the bush, he tells you like it is. I think that is very important. His staff is very pleasant, there is not anything I could say bad about them. They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. He goes over the whole proceedure from start to finish with you and tells you what you may expect afterwards. He also is very informative about the risks you may encounter. I would definately reccommend him to others. I believe that a physician should have both competence and a great bedside manner.

I liked Dr Curci right away. He gave me details about his proceedure and himself. His office staff is wonderful. It takes an long time to get an appointment with him, but I think it is well worth the wait.

Dr. Curci is partners w/Dr.Ford. Dr. Curci is a very good Doctor his bed side manner could be a little better, but as a surgeon he is excellant. His office staff is very polite & very courteous. Dr. Curci explained everything to me in such a manner that I had no questions, however I had throughly checked into the suregery before going to see him. I would recommend him & the surgery to anyone that is morbidly obsese. You lose weight in such a manner that you can not use this just to lose 10-50 pounds-I truly agree that you should be at least 100 pounds overweight. Doylestown Hospital is the greatest, I was trying to find a hospital that was not in Phila. & when I found Dr. Curci I was truly impressed. I live 30 - 35 minutes away & the trip is well worth it.

10/16/01 was my first consult with Dr. Curci. He was very nice and relaxed with talking to me. I never once felt I had to justify myself or reasons to him.
The staff was nice. I spoke with Carol who was the one who got my date all set up and my paperwork done. She was very sweet and relaxed all my pre-hospital questions.
I think you can relax yourself now before going for first appointment, since he doesnt make you feel like you have to justify anything. Good to know for others who have yet to have their first consult :)
He told me of support group and aftercare programs with my PCP as well as a follow up with him and the importance of it all.
He told me of good things and bad things that can happen as a result of this surgery, which being through 4 surgeries in the past, I know them :)
I think all in all, as my first consult, he was very good. Bedside manner, surgical competence, information, just very good. I am happy with my choice of surgeon :)

As of 5/28/04, I was informed that Dr. Curci will no longer be accepting new patients for WLS. No reason was passed along to me from Carol in his office who was the one who called to inform me per his request. There was no known info if he will resume at a later time or not.

when i first met Dr. Curse i was not impressed with him. He was very thurogh with the explanation of what he was goint to do and made sure i understood the requirments he wanted. I was smoking at the time and he told me point blank that he would not do the surgery if i was still smoking 2 months before the surgery and that i needed to be cleared by the pulmonologist. Bedside manner wasn't the best but in all my reserch on him he had an impecable reputaion for being thourou. I have had many surgerys but this is the first time i have had no complications at all. I healed well, pain was at a minimal, the pouch gave no trouble except when i over ate. I didn't come to Dr. Cursi for his bedside manner, i went for his skill and i was very happy with the way things tturned out.

I think that Dr Cursi is a wonderful surgeon, I had no complications but I don't think he provides enough information. The staff Barbara and Carol are very nice but he's the one who should take more time with you "after" the surgery. He tells you alot of information prior to you saying yes to the surgery, but doesn't have you evaluated get a psych test, which alot of people I know had to. I had my surgery on January 23, 2004. I saw him 2 weeks later to have the staples removed, then I went an entire 3 months. Had lots of questions but he seemed to rushed, so I didn't ask.
Wonderful surgeon, but his bedside manor needs help.

I first met Dr. Joseph Curci on 1/8/2004. I was excited about my appointment but was not feeling great that day. So, my first impression of him was a little squed because of not feeling well. He took time to answer all of my questions and my husband's questions. I had spoken to 2 other surgeons prior to my visit. I decided to go with Dr. Curci because of his patiences, directness, and most of all his experience. Way to go Dr. Curci. : )

I can not say enough good things about Carol and Barb. Two of his excellent staff members. They have some of the greatest patiences with patients. I could even count the # of times I have spoken with them.

I look forward to meeting Dr. Curci again and working with his staff while preparing for pre/post ops.

Many Thanks.
