Dr. Cleveland did an excellent job with my surgery. It went very smoothly and I did not have any post operative complications. This was by far the best experience I have ever had with surgery. I would definitely recommend Dr. Cleveland.

My first impression of Dr. Cleveland was surprisingly pleasant. I had heard that he was very nice or didn't have the best bedside manner, but I experienced the exact opposite. From the front door to the back, I felt welcomed and at ease by every staff member. The pre - op classes were taught by the RNs and nutritionists. It was their goal to make sure that we were WELL informed on what was expected of us before, during and after surgery. We even had a test (I made 100) at the end of the 4 week class. Overall, I would rate Dr. Cleveland and his staff 9 out of 10. There is always room for improvement!

I highly recommend Dr. Ken Cleveland at the Weight Loss Management Clinic associated with Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. My first impression was one of extreme competence. His knowledge of obesity and surgical strategies for weight loss is phenomenal. As time went on, I sincerely appreciated his \"no beating around the bush\" attitude. He answered my questions and provided specific information without trying to \"sell me\" on the idea. Even when I asked hard questions on the risks of surgery and the overall success rate of the program,(not that there was anything to hide) he was honest and forthcoming. His strong belief in surgery as the beginning of a process instead of a life altering event kept my feet to the fire during those early months when determining what I could/should do to be successful was difficult.rnrnThe nurses in the clinic are incredible. Most of them are former patients and their personal experiences made their care more personalized. No matter the question or request, they were always there for me with good advice, helpful information and a listening ear. The clinic itself is professionally run and timely appointments are a plus. There is a mentor available if requested and follow-up peer sessions on a monthly basis.rnrnIf I had to list a negative, it would be with the business process. Since I was a cash-paying patient, all related medical expenses for 12 months were to be covered by the clinic. As of now they have been, but sometimes I feel as if I'm being \"put off\" when I bring unpaid bills to their attention. On two different occasions creditors have contacted me because bills were not paid in a timely manner. rnrnThere is a very structured pre and post op program for all types of WLS. I went through a number of question/answer sessions and explicit training of the physical after effects and what/how to eat at specific intervals. Numerous tests were required to make sure I was mentally and physically fit to have this surgery and the follow-up care was excellent. I still have routine bloodwork done and visits with the doctor.rnrnOverall, I would rate my experience with Dr. Cleveland as exceptional. For me, his blend of humor/warmth and \"drill sargeant attitude\" is just what I need to be successful. rnrn

I really like Dr Cleveland. The first time I met him he was willing to answer any questions I had. I asked him a few questions, but by that time, I had already had all my nutrition appointmen and all, so most of my questions had already been answered. He was great at surgery day and asked again if there were any questions. I recommend him highly.

My first impression was \"What a nice man\". I felt very comfortable talking with him and I could tell he wasn't rushing me at all and was truly concerned with what I had to say. Now his first impression of me probably was a bit different. I got lost and found him and a few of his staff sitting in a construction zone. He asked \"Who\" I was looking for and in a smarty tone of voice I responded \"YOU\". I hope he overlooks that because I am really a super friendly outgoing person. I am sure I will get to know him even better in the months to come but if the next appointments are like this primary appointment, I will most likely be very happy.rnrnI am crazy about Dr. Cleveland and his staff. We are all on the same page and I appreciate their attitudes! Thanks!!!rn

I met Dr. Cleveland five years ago as a nurse in the hospital where he performs his surgeries. He and his team were always compassionate and caring with their patients regardless of what type of surgery they had. If I had one thing to like least about him it may be that he is a surgeon. And typically surgeons don't have the greatest bedside manner. He comes in says what he has to say and then he's gone. If you want to ask questions you need to have them written down and be ready to fire when he gives you the opportunity. Dr. Cleveland and his team were very conscientious about stressing the need for long term care and follow-up. He and his team were very up front about the risks involved with surgery, although no one specifically addressed directly to me the risk of death, but it was mentioned in the seminars. Overall I would give him am 8 on a scale of 10 with ten being the greatest. Points were lost for his direct impersonal approach, but CMMC\"S bariatric team was great they all know me by name. And another point for Dr. Cleveland not showing up to the seminar, I realize that as surgeons they are very busy people and emergencies happen, but I really think that for people who are not familiar with the quality of his work it is a turn off. I have a friend who attended with me that chose a different surgeon out of town just because he was a no show. rnI do believe that surgical competence is much more important than bedside manner. I came OH to make friends not the surgeons office. They ( my surgeon and his team) have a job to do and they are great at it!

My first impression of Dr. Cleveland was that he is straight-forward and no nonsense. I like that quality and it hasn't changed over time. rnAdam Dungey, RN, BSN, is the Coordinator of the Comprehensive Weight Management Center at Central Mississippi Medical Center. He promptly answers any questions and I think he a definite asset to the practice. The nurses and other staff are friendly, compassionate and remember their patients. rnDr Cleveland strongly emphasizes aftercare.rnHe has a very structured aftercare program. He presents you with printed materials to review as well as discusses all aspects of what to expect. My experiences with CMMC have been excellent. Very caring staff that make you feel confident and secure. Overall,,I would rate Dr. Cleveland, Adam Dungey, RN, CMMC and all the staff of both places the highest rating possible. Surgical competence is most important when I choose a surgeon. Bedside manner is simply a plus. rn
