I liked Dr. Printen from the first moment I met him. He is warm, caring and very down to earth. He made me feel comfortable and did not treat me like I did not deserve to been seen like my PCP. His offices staff is very friendly and helpful.

Dr. Printen is a great doctor. He was very supportive from the beginning and he treated me like a person who just happened to be overweight. He was and still is very respectful. It has been almost 8 months since the beginning of the real me and I still see him every two to three months. Is office staff is very nice, especially the women, one of which also had the surgery by Dr. Printen and she is very informative if I ever have a question. The only thing that bothers me about Dr. Printen is that when I'm talking to him he sometimes looks as if he's falling asleep! I mentioned it to him one day, but he said that no, he wasn't tired. so....
He is pretty lax on aftercare issues regarding when I could start eating solids and trying new foods, just take it slow. He was strict about red meats and soda though.
He was a great surgeon, I had no problems after surgery except for the pain and his bedside manner is great. I would recommend Dr. Printen to anyone.

Dr. Printen was very nice and very straight forward. He made me feel at ease right away.
I have only seen him twice so far.
The office staff was very nice, and very helpful. When I left Dr. Printen's office, I felt like I had known him for along time. He's very likable. Dr. Printen seems to be very honest. He was running behind schedule but still answered all my questions at both visits.I have spoken to several of Dr. Printen's patients to learn more about aftercare. He emphasized the importance of support groups and follow-ups as well as exercise. Dr. Printen informed me abut the surgical risk within the first few minutes. He said this is a death rate of about 1% (1 out of a 100). Dr. Printen did my husbands' cousin surgery in July and also three of her co-workers. They praise him highly. So, I can only agree with them that he is a great and very well qualified. I have my surgery date now, its August 8th, 2003. I wish it was sooner, but since I'm having it at Evanston Hospital this was the firt available date!

Dr. Printen is a wonderful relaxing doctor. He makes you feel at ease when talking to him, and you feel very special.

I was very nervous about discussing my weight with another doctor because all to often I felt talked down to, and depressed after words. Doctor Printen was the exact opposite. He made me feel like a person, and in fact a special one at that. He was very reassuring and warm.

His office staff is great! In fact the woman running the office is a “wls” person too!!

The only think I can say I did not like about Doctor Printen is that he only does OPEN procedures. He does not do LAP L I was a little bummed about that until I discussed it with him. Now I am fine with it !

If you are considering Doctor Printen, all I can tell you is RELAX.. he is terrific!

Aftercare is almost more important to Doctor Printen. He has a support group that he encourages everyone to attend, he also pushes excersise all the time. I can not yet say how he is Post Op because I am not there yet.!!

As far as the risks of the surgery. Doctor Printen was a streight shooter. He told me all the risks up front and while the mortality rte is a little scary. this is still worth the risk!! NO QUESTION!!

Overall I believe I am in good hands with Doctor Printen, and I am excited about the future..

It has been about 11 month since i had the surgery with Dr. Printen. I have lost around 120lbs and feel great. My doc Dr.Maria Garcia sent me to see Dr. Printen and that was the best thing ever. I would do this all over again with no second thoughts about it. he is a great doc and very understanding and takes time to talk to you. he has a very nice/helpfull staff.. I would recomend him to anyone in need of this surgery, you'll be very happy

After researching a few doctors in the Chicago area I chose Dr Printen.I found him to be compassionate, down to earth, straightforward with a good sense of humor, he really cares about his patients and takes time with them.
His office staff is very kind and helpful also. They took care of the insurance approval and to my surprise i got approval in three days!
Anyone looking for a great surgeon consider Dr Printen. An A+ in surgical experience and beside manner!

I have only been to one appointment with Doctor Printen, but he was everything I was told and more. He is extreamly helpfull. I felt at ease with him after only a few moments. He answered my inital questions honestly honestly and completely. He made it clear that he can not do magic, but that I can be successfull with his help.

All I can say is he makes a wonderfull first impression.. Will see if that holds up over time, and I will report back!!

Thanks

I loved my surgeon, he was very caring and very experienced, he was one of the doctors to invent the surgery. His staff was also great. He made me feel real comfortable right before surgery when I was getting real scared. I am really glad I chose him.
