His bedside manner is awful! But I know he is a wonderful surgeon. He also makes you jump through several hoops I guess to prove yourself.

Rose is wonderful.

Surgical Competence

My first impressions of him was that he was laid back and straight forward. My impression stand the same. His office staff was wonderful especially Rose. I have no complaints about anyone in Dr. Robinson's office. I would tell another patients to make sure they are ready to do what it takes to get ready for this surgery. Dr. Robinson is very concerned about aftercare and he makes sure you and your support person know what you all's responsiblies are. He makes sure you know all the pros and cons of this surgery. I would rate him a 10. Surgical competence and bedside manner of both great.

I found him to be rather cool and aloof> i didn't see him again ubtil the day of surgery. It got worse instead of better I had a horrible relationship with him.I would never advise anyone to see him or let him perform surgery on them. There was basically no aftercare from him. My first 2 wks post surgery were fine. when the bottom fell out the last week of June Dr. Robinson insisted it was all in my head that there was noyhing physically wrong with me and he out me on zoloft. This went on until the last week in August when I was so weak from vomiting constantly that I could no longer walk. I fell several times one morning then finally could no longer get up and was taken by ambulance to the hospital and spent the entire day in the ER and Dr. Robinson never showed up there even though I personally called his office several times from the ER, Three days later I was admitted to the hospital and that started me on a long 2 years of almost constant hospitalizations. In Oct 2002 Dr Robinson told me find another Dr.

Dr. Robinson came across as very quiet, but thorough. He was concerned about my asthma, and made an appointment with Dr. Jackson, an asthma specialist. After several appointments with Dr. Jackson, my asthma is under control, and I have been released for the surgery. Dr. Robinsons staff is very nice, and professional. They work so hard for you, and your insurance company. I am a little nervous, but anxious to get this surgery. Hopefully, it will be a beginning to a new life. I will give updates to you all after my surgery. I hope any of you out there that are overweight and as miserable as I am, will at least think about this. I feel it will be a new beginning for all. Sincerely, Dana Malcom

My first impression of Dr. Robinson was that he was very competent. After meeting with him several times, I was sure I had made the right decision. I had originally gone to another surgeon. Dr. Robinson and his staff made me feel very comfortable from the beginning. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate Dr. Robinson and his staff a 10 in all areas.

I had to cx my appt with Dr. Titus Duncan and am now scheduled for a consult with Dr. Waits/Macik on June 3... I am getting excited but scared about the insurance.. I have attened a support group tonite for Dr. Waits/Macik's patients and Karen said something about there being a problem getting United Healthcare HMO to cover..I have Choice Plus which I am not sure is an HMO>> I know there are several types... time will tell. I like the fact that these doc's pt's seem to have little complications and most seem very happy with results... I also attended the reunion last month and it was inspiring and exciting...I am hoping to be a participant in next years' reunion! Will update after consult.
July 28, 2003... Had a consult with Dr. Kermie Robinson in January and was very impressed with him, his nurse Elaine and Rose, the insurance person. HOPEFULLY he will be my surgeon if insurance cooperates...

At my first appointment I met Elaine, she was just wonderful. I'm sure your all aware she had the surgery a few yrs ago, and boy does she look fabulous. I was really comfortable talking to her. She really made me feel at ease. She took my pic and gave me some paperwork to feel out. Then I scheduled an appt with Dr. Robinson for a consultation. I had already had my letter of recommendation from my regular family doctor. Dr. Robinson was very nice! I got to speak to him one on one. He answered all the questions i still had. He has a support group that is just wonderful. It consist of people who have already had the surgery and people who are considering it. Dr. Robinson also makes you attend a teaching class that lets you know all the pros and cons of the surgery. The risk that you face and the side effects you may have. Then he test you to make sure you really understand all of them. He is a very patient man, and very kind. He performs the surgery at Rockdale Hospital. He wants you to continue with the support group after surgery, it helps you mentally and emotionally deal with WLS. And last but not least I got to meet Rose. She is the one that handles all of you paperwork. She summits the information to the insurance co and then lets you know your status. I sent my letter on 6/2/03. I'm still waiting. At this moment I have nothing to say negative about the Dr. or the staff, but only time will tell. Hopefully I never will!
