I met with Dr. Kole this week. He was very professional, friendly, and informative.
He really took the time to explain all the complications, their causes, and how to avoid them. I feel confident with my choice of surgeon.

I was very impress with Dr. Kole when I first met him. He answered all my questions without hesitation, and I just knew he was the surgeon for me.

My surgery went very well without any problems except for the blood thinner situation. My staple didn't agree with the lovonox and I had to go back to the hospital to get that straighten out. Since that cleared up, I am great.

I thought Dr. Kole staff was good. There is some room for improvement. Sometimes it was hard to get a hold of a dietitian because I had a food question. Cori do supply a manual with all the information in it.

I think new patients should be straight forward and not be afraid to ask all necessary questions especially about aftercare. Cori center do have a aftercare program.

There is always risks with surgery. Dr. Kole and the Cori center will give you a list of possible complications. Make sure, as a patient that you follow special instructions given at pre-op and post op. Always ask questions.

I rate Dr. Kole as a A++. His surgical competence and bedside manner was wonderful for me. I have spoken with other surgeons previously and I found them to be immature and cocky. This is my opinion about Dr. Kole. Others may not agree, but I stand by my opinions about him. Dr. Kole is one of the best doctor I have ever had.

My first meeting with Dr. Kole was in a room with 5 other people. He came across as very professional yet respectful of each person in the room. He made eye contact with everone during his entire presentation and very calmly explained in graphic detail all of the possible complications up to and including death. He wanted to make certain everyone knew how serious this surgery is and that it is ELECTIVE. Following the meeting he had individual meetings. My advice to anyone going for their consultation is to get there early as he does the individual meetings in the order you arrive- . I was glad to have received this information from a friend prior to the meeting. Whew.
I felt like I had known Dr, Kole for a long time - it was that type of feeling. Overall I would say he is calm and steady. I'll have more to say in 9 days!

Dr. Kerry Kole is a tall man with nice, big competant hands. He seems to be a gentle, caring, understanding, intelligent doctor, and I just loved him immediatly. I pretty much already knew alot of what Dr.Kole spoke of during the seminar, but as he spoke about wls, it really drove home the seriousness of making the decision to have this invasive surgery. While making sure that we understood the dangers of wls, he also made sure to let us know just how often each danger truly afflicts those who have wls. Also, strongly driving home the need for aftercare, and expressing the fact that wls is a tool to help us in our fight for wl, and the need for us to learn how to deal with any emotional issues we may have concerning food, stress, weight, etc.
There were a couple times that Dr. Kole didn't seem to know how to express what he was thinking, or seemed a bit wishy-washy about explaining something, but he quickly adjusts and recovers, and is a boat load of info.
Doctor visits seem to be what is structured. Although support groups, dieticians, and counciling are strongly suggested, they are not a requirement. It is up to you to make these things happen. They are available to your discretion.
Dr. Koles staff are friendly with a ready smile, yet remain professional, helpful, and informative. A nice, neat, and comfortable reception area is maintained. However, I am puzzled over the everempty coffeepot center, and the everempty water cooler?
Overall I feel that I have made a wonderful choice in Dr. Kerry Kole. He is both surgically competant and has a wonderful bedside manner. I believe God himself has led me to Dr. Kole ( Divine Intervention ) for I had been going to go through the Bariatrics Center, but inexplicably my attention was diverted to Cori and honed in on Dr. Kole without hesitation. I wanted him for my wls, even after looking at all the other profiles of the other Cori Drs. I was floored by this. I am probably the most wishy washy person I know. I never make a decision without thinking about it over and over, and then asking for an opinion from someone I know. WOW! D.I.G. Way to go!

I meet Dr. Kole at an informational seminar and felt he was the one for me to continue my pursuit of the gastric bypass surgery via laparoscopy. He has been wonderful and has a very supportive nurse with whom I have had several follow up visits with and who has been very encouraging to me to keep the weight loss going. The surgeon, hospital, and office staff can only do so much in this whole process, the results all depends on your dedication to your health.

Dr Kole was very helpful. I originally went in for the LapBand because of issues I have with scarring. He said it would not be helpful enough for me & to let him worry about the scarring. The morning of surgery there was some confusion though Dr was under the impression of Open surgery my husband got it all straightened out & I had Laprascopic. Now I'm well on my way to feeling better. Dr was very informative at the aftercare & explained why I was feeling a lot of the things I was, he set me at ease knowing that nothing was really going wrong with some of the sharp pains I was having. Dr Kole does care about his patients and works with you.

01/14/2004: Dr Kerry Kole is "VERY" knowledgable about BARIATRIC SURGERY and quite detailed and informative when explaining the procedure and what a person can expect. I didn't have any questions because he covered everything I thought to ask him. After my consultation I felt very relaxed and comfortable knowing that he would be the physician performing my surgery. I would reccommend Dr Kerry Kole to anyone living in the Detroit Metropolitan area who is considering having Bariatric Surgery.

I found Dr. Kole to be friendly and easy to talk with. He's professional and yet put me at ease right away. His office staff and nurses are all very professional and most are friendly and personable. The office is modern and clean and one of the first things I noticed in the waiting room was that the chairs were all extra wide which made sitting comfortable. I found that to be very thoughtful -- I've NEVER seen this in Ontario. Dr. Kole was encouraging yet he made sure that he informed me of the risks because that after all is necessary. I was aware of the risks prior to applying for gastric bypass surgery - I had done lots of research and also I knew others who had WLS. So, when he informed me of the risks, they were of no surprise. Dr. Kole encourages support groups and there is a local support group in Warren I believe. However, I live 6 hours away, so my support groups are my online support groups. As far as I know there is not a WLS support group in my area. Also, there are various follow up visits required and he and the dietician Rachel, both encouraged me to call if I have any questions whatsoever. Dr. Kerry Kole is competent, has lots of experience with WLS and is a former trauma unit surgeon. I am thrilled that I chose such a fine doctor.
