My first impression of Dr. Cottingham is that he was young, but to me that's not a negative. Sometimes young doctors are more up to date than older ones. I attended his seminar on a Wed evening at Gold's Gym/Brookwood. I was impressed because he conducted the whole thing himself, and he presented the details of how the surgery is actually done, including a short video. He answered questions and was very polite, not condescending. I met Machele there, his office staff, and I called the next day for an appointment, which I was able to get within a week. The office staff have all been very nice and helpful. I worked with Machele to get my pre-op consultations done, she was helpful. When I saw him for my pre-op visit he was very concerned that I follow up on support groups etc for aftercare. I had surgery 2 days ago and he was great. He has a good bedside manner. The only negative that I can think of is that he hasn't performed hundreds of lap-bands, but he has done extensive GI surgery. I would highly recommend him.
Dr. Cottingham is great! I haven't had any complications other than gallstones which is very common. He'll be taking my gallbladder out soon. I LOVE Dr. Cottingham!
At first sight Dr. Cottingham looks very young, but don't let the youthfulness fool you. He is a very experienced surgeon and I would recommend him to anyone. He is very concerned and willing to answer any questions @ anytime. His nurses were very helpful in the approval process answering questions and guiding me through this journey.
