I had bypass surgery in July of 2010. At the time I weighed 450 pounds. I didn't walk into the office planning to do bypass. I was leaning more towards the band. after meeting with Dr. Dumon, his advice was that I would have better success with Bypass. Boy was he right!
I am almost three years out and over 200 pounds down. I just got married and now I am looking forward to starting a family. Dr. Dumon changed my life forever. He also saved my life. I had some severe complications and his quick action saved me. I will forever be indebted to Dr. Dumon. He is a celebrity in my house.

I first met Dr. Kristoffel Dumon in the early spring of 2010. I was immediately impressed with his patience and candor in answering all my questions. I spoke with him again months later just a week before my surgery. I had full confidence in him.

The surgery went extremely well. I started to heal much faster than I ever expected. Dr. Dumon visited each of the three days I was in the hospital to check up on me. I think he is wonderful.

Two weeks after my surgery, there was a follow up visit to Dr. Dumon in his office; I was losing weight and my diabetes seemed to be almost in remission already! I felt fine! It seemed like my good health was magically restored to me!

I was so overcome with happiness and emotion I asked Dr. Dumon if I could give him a kiss. He said yes. So, I, a middle aged man, gave my surgeon a kiss on his cheek, and my eyes were beginning to water. I think he is great!

Dr. Dumon is such a patient, understanding, and compassionate doctor. He gave me the impression that he cared from the first time I met him. His staff were all willing to help me through the entire process and are supportive after the surgery. He took time to explain the different procedures available, which ones I might benefit from, and together we made a plan of attack. So far so good. I've lost 22 pounds only 8 days of surgery. I am following everything he and his team suggests. I would definately reccomend Dr. Dumon to anyone seeking bariatric surgery.

The Hospital of University of Pennsylvania was awesome. From registration to going to the operating room, my room, etc. I had one bad nurse, but that situation was resolved and don't want to go into detail on this matter.

Kris is the only bariatric surgeon at the University of Penn hospital that my insurance allows to do the surgery. Which is fine by me, I really liked Kris! He explained everything and answered all my questions. rnMy sister is a nurse is the PAC-U at the University of Penn hospital, so he sees her often. And everytime he does I get a phone call that he is asking about me. He remembers me! He wants to know what I am doing and what else I have left to do to get this surgery done. I don't know any other doctor let alone surgeon who would do that. I feel safe in his hands.

So far his office has been incredibly helpful and professional. They helped me set up all my pre op screening and answered my million questions. rnrnHe comes off a little stern, but he is just very serious about his job. I want my doorman friendly, I want my surgeon serious - so he's perfect for me.rnrnMy surgery is next month, so I'll update more about him later.

So far so good. I was assigned Dr. Dumon as my insurance company will only cover surgery by him. I have only met him once but he was wonderful. Calm, sweet and very patient. He really took the time to answer my questions, was very comforting and not the least bit condescending.rnrnUpdate: Surgery completed and Dr. Dumon is the bomb! He was perfect from start to finish. So sweet and kind and caring. I didn't even feel as if I had surgery. He is a miracle worker.
