Dr. Potts always portrayed himself as being very intelligent, quite competent, but at the same time, very approachable. I appreciate his frankness, and directness. His office staff is very efficeint. I don't have anything negative to say about him. He is very knowledgable about bariatric surgery, and he executes his craft well. I would refer anyone looking to have the surgery to him in a heartbeat. The aftercare was emphasized from the very beginning, and the office provides several avenues for follow-up care, and support. On a scale of 1-10, he is a 10 all the way in my book. His surgical competence and bedside manner are both phenomenal. I couldn't have been blessed with a better doctor.

My first impression of Dr. Potts was right on...He is an awesome doctor. He made me feel extremely comfortable from the beginning. Dr. Potts took his time explaining everything to me and answered all my questions. I left my first consultation feeling/knowing I was in good hands. My situation became quite complicated when a large cyst was found on my kidney/adrenal gland on a pre-op lab. Dr. Potts went out of his way to make sure everything was okay and we could proceed with surgery. He was always professional and knew his stuff:) My surgery went smoothly without any complications. He visited me everyday I was in the hospital and answered all my questions. I can't stress enough how wonderful this man is. He truely saved my life and I'm greatful for that!!!

Dr. Potts is WONDERFUL!!! The staff, the office and the whole experience was incredible. I could not have asked for a better team.

I was his FIRST lap rny patient. At first I had many concerns. He addressed them all. He listened and throughly explained everything.

Future patients should know that he is a very competent doctor. He pays attention and he makes you feel ok about asking anything.

I can't say enough about him and his staff.

I first met Dr. Potts at the education seminar we were required to attend. He is a very knowledgeable, caring, compassionate man. At first I was a little nervous because he is relatively new to WLS, but as soon as I went to my consult, my mind was at ease. I have heard a lot of good things about him and am looking forward to having him as my surgeon.

His office is with Dr. Callery in Poway, CA. They have a wonderful program set up for both pre-op and post-op support as well as nutritional information. I have met several of their patients and have learned a lot from them. I am confident that I am with the best office I could be with.

Was originally going through Dr. Callery. Seems he's very busy these days. I'm meeting with Dr.Potts this Monday. He is new to Dr. Callery's office. Met with Dr.Potts and he is so great! What a nice man! You feel like he loves his job and isn't in it for the money. What a breath of fresh air!

I felt very comfortable with him. I think he has a really good personality. I had my surgery with him on Jan. 22, 2004. He made many mistakes that he admitted to me and my family. He made two accidental cuts into the top of my stomach that he stitched up. I was cut open about 12 inches with no bypass conducted due to his mistakes. I feel like I have been all cut up with no bypass to show. I might have the surgery again if his mistakes haven't ruined my chances for a future surgery. I would tell everyone I know to stay clear of this very nice man, for surgery that is!!!

Dr. Potts is a very quiet man. Direct but not pushy and certainly seems to have a good bedside manner. I've met with him twice now and feel very comfortable with him performing my surgery.

He and Dr. Callery have a very structured before and after care system. I feel very welcomed into a long term (1 yr) committment into giving this surgery the best chance I can with his and his offices' continual support.

The only thing I have to say that may be negative about him/or his staff is his reaction to my interracial marriage. Maybe this was a perceived response by me, but I felt his demeaner change slightly when I introduced him to my "black" husband. I could be wrong and I hope I am.

Also, in his office "Alicia" is one RUDE little tart on the phone. I always asked to speak with someone else after our first few conversations, because she is short and very snippy with people on the phone. I know several others in the Thinnertimes group on Yahoo feel the same.

He was matter-of-fact about the risks of surgery. Advised me strongly not to gain any more weight before surgery. And he was very patient with all of my questions about the procedure as well and the gall bladder removal. I even felt comfortable speaking to him about looking for my hernia and fix that as well.

Overall I am very pleased with Dr. Potts so far.

UPDATE 1/9/04. Dr Potts is an excellent surgeon. Very thorough and ran every test he could before I left the hospital so that we both felt good about the outcome. He tayed with me thru my complications and well into the evening on the day of my surgery. I couldn't have chosen a better Dr.
