Laurence Gibson Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

I just want to say I love my surgeons. I was very sure of his performance from the first time I met him. My grattitude only grew with each visit. The staff are all professsional, courteous, and friendly. There is nothing at this time I didn't like. Everyone should know that Dr. Gibson is a very professional man, who has done numerous gb surgeries and he takes the time to explain what has and will happen. He explains in great detail the process and all the pros/cons and fatality risk. I would give Dr. Gibson and his entire staff a A++. I think that both surgical competence and bedside manner should go hand in hand because they are both vital to the entire experience.

He seemed really nice when I met him. I have only seen him 2 times so far. But he seemed to generally care about me as a PERSON as well as a patient :o)

Dr. Gibson is absolutely wonderful! He is kind and funny and has really good bedside manner. Not once did I feel uncomfortable or uneasy. He was constantly reassuring me that everything would be great. The week prior to surgery I had to have talked to him 4 times. For a surgeon thats a lot of time to take out for phone calls. He was polite and as nice as could be. I highly recommend him to anyone looking to have GBP in the Chicago area.

I thought Dr. Gibson was very good. I felt completely comfortable knowing he would be doing my surgery. The office staff are very friendly. He did not really emphasize aftercare, he always referred me to the nutritionist, and she is GREAT! His bedside manner is really wonderful, too! I would strongly recommend him to anyone considering this surgery in the Chicago area.

dr. gibson was very friendly upbeat and very easy to talk to... i live 51/2 hours from his office so i only had one visit with him before we met again at surgery... he did require all needed testing and a letter from my pcp that she would be on board with me and facilitate in my after care. surgery was fine.. had to stay 8 days but all for minor things mostly my excessive drainage.. he was very thorough in that he did recheck me for leaks due to all my draining.. i went home with the drain and kept it one month... he is a very nice man and i never felt the least bit uncomfortable with him. his nutrionist (sp) june is a wonderful... great lady who you can tell genuinely cares for your well being i give the staff in the hospital an a + for their kind and considerate care... i never had to wait for anything i needed and i loved the care i recieved.. i give my doctor laurence gibson an a+ also... i believe he saved my life...gena d
