THE FIRST TIME I MET DR. KHAITAN, IT WAS AT THE GROUP CONSULTATION THAT EMORY HOSPITAL HELD IN APRIL. SHE SEEMED TO BE A VERY CAPABLE INDIVIDUAL AND SHE IS ALSO FROM MY HOME TOWN-SO THAT WAS AN ADDED BONUS. THE MAIN REASON WHY I CHOSE TO GO WITH HER AT FIRST WAS BECAUSE DR. SMITH (HEAD OF BARIATRICS AT EMORY) WAS ALL BOOKED UP AND I JUST WANTED TO GET IN THE FASTEST WAY I COULD. BUT I MUST SAY, MEETING WITH DR. KHAITAN FOR MY FIRST CONSULTATION (5/12/03), SHE WAS NICER THAN I COULD HAVE IMMAGINED AND VERY EDUCATED AND HELPFUL IN DESCRIBING THE PROCEDURE....IT SEEMS AS THOUGH HER EASY GOING PERSONALITY WILL HELP ME GET OVER ANY GITTERS I MAY HAVE. ALL OF THE STAFF HAVE BEEN VERY HELPFUL SO FAR AND VERY COMPSSIONATE. IT'S WEIRD TO HAVE ONE PERSON SEEM TO GENUINELY CARE ABOUT MY PROBLEMS WITH OBESITY, LET ALONE A WHOLE OFFICE!-THANKS GUYS!

I was very impress with Dr. Khaitian when I first met her. She sat down with my husband and I and discussed my surgery and told me she thought I was a great candiate for the surgery. She made the time to answer in and all questions that I has. During my EGD she was very polite and sweet and she gave me mother updates about me on the day. I have some more test to complete before the surgery but I am sure I will be met with same kindness. She has not emphasized after care that much since I am still waiting on a surgery date. She did mention a risk to the surgery and urged me not to gain any more weight. I would urge anyone to go to Emory Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia becuase so far they are very nice except for one nurse in the GI Services. I would like my doctor to have both a bedside manner and know what she is during in the operation room, but if I have to choose one or the other I would want her to be at the top of her field in the operation room.

I really like her. At first I had the impression she was a little stand-offish. But after meeting with her on 3 different appts, I reallly like her. The office staff she works with at Emory are wonderful. Debbie couldnt be nicer, even if she doesnt remember your face, she knows your name. Dr. Khaitan really stresses getting in as good of shape as you can before the op, and really takes the time to make sure you understand how important it is to STOP SMOKING, she will not do op if you smoke. The blood gas test lets her know if you have been in the last 30 days or so.... Overall I would say she is wonderful wonderful wonderful and I am very happy that things did not work out for me to go to Titus Duncan. TO me it is more important for her to know whats going on and how to do things that to be funny/witty/ ect; however she is both.

I have only met with my doctor once. So far I like her, she seem sincere and I think that things will go well.
