Dr. Smith is a very friendly and helpful Doctor. His assistant is a very nice lady and very helpful.

Dr. Smith is very thorough Doctor. He explained the surgery in specific detail. He told me about the risks of the surgery and what will be required after surgery.

Dr.Smith is fantastic. Very thorough and has an excellent way of making you feel comfortable. I had little to no pain post op. The Interns/Residents that he had working with him were great. Very helpful with questions, knowledgable and trully cared. I have had experiences in the past with surgeons that were judgmental, but that is definitely not the case with Dr.Smith.

He has saved my life and I will forever be greatful.

My first impression was a good one. I had my first consult yesterday (Friday Jan 8th) and his office was running pretty much on time. He didn't rush me through the consultation, and I didn't feel like I was a number or anything. The office staff was friendly. The waiting room had oversized chairs and regular ones. The dr's office had oversized chair too. He explained everything calmly and was really relaxed, putting me at total ease. I know I will be in good hands when he performs the surgery.

My first impression of Dr. Smith was that he understood what I was feeling and let me answer his questions without answering me back with the attitude that he was better than me. My impressionrnonly got better over time as I seen how comfortable he made me feel. He answered any questions I had in words I could understand and was honest about everything. His office staff was very nice and polite and again answered any questions that I asked of her. He told me that follow-ups are very important a) to make sure everything is ok and that I am on track and b) so that they know the results of my surgery. Yes, well to me it is structured. Well the risks of surgery were address to me as yes I have 1 in 200 chance of dying however I have a 1 in 5 of dying over the next 5 years. Also I could drive out on the highway and get hit by another car but is that going to stop me from driving? NO So why not try and make my life healthier and more livable. Out of a 10 I would have to say I give him a 7 but I know what you are going to say. If he seems so good why do you rate him so low. Well no one is perfect and well lets wait and see after the surgery how many points he can earn. I think that surgical competence is better however if you don't have the trust in the bedside manner then you wouldn't be going for the surgery and having to worry about surgical competence.
