Lori Kellam Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Lori Kellam is AWESOME. She takes the time that you need to understand everything and she is so knowledgeable. Her staff is also AWESOME, they seem to have such compassion for you and they are so effective. When you leave her office you are totally aware of what is totally involved with this surgery. Her suricaal competency has been checked out a she comes out a 10, plus her bedside manner is just as good. Sorry but I have had such a great experience with this office I have no negative things to say.

Dr. Lori Kellam appears to be a wonderful, caring, intelligent and brillant surgeon. i am looking forward to having my surgery done by her and the post-op treatment follow-ups. Dr. Kellam answered all my questions and addressed the seriousness of the surgery and the risks. With her combined characteristics of masterful surgical competence and caring bedisde manner, I believe anyone would trust her and feel safe in her hands. Amanda Pollock is an awesome person as well. She handles the patient intake and contacts with the patient. I have not experienced anything negative yet.
5-22-03 She is awesome. My surgery was only about 2 hours, no complications. She checked on me and my first post-op was great. I have lost 19 lbs in two weeks! She took the staples out and was very informative about my surgery and what to do next.

I had my first visit with Dr. Kellam on the 18th of February. She was very nice and answered all the questions I had asked her about the surgery. She went over the different types, I will be having open Roux-en Y. She explained the risks and the most important aftercare needed. Her office staff, Amanda is very helpful in getting all the info you need together and helping with insurance matters and getting everything together to be submitted. I look forward to getting a surgery date

Dr. Lori Kellam was very personable and thorough during my initial consultation. She is very easy to talk to and is a good listener. I would describe Dr. Kellam as a conservative and cautious surgeon who seems to do everything possible to minimize the risks and complications associated with this surgery. I feel very fortunate to have found her.

My first impression of Dr. kellam was okay condersing the fact at my intinal appt it took about 1hr and 30 mins before i met her, my appt was at 11am and i saw her at 12:30noon time. She explained she had some patients come in with dehydration and two who need to have their appendix taken out. in that case it was OKAY. it really didn't becouse i fell that it was rushed(meaning the time she talked to me and my husband he had questions, and he said he felt rushed. But her information she gave was everything in the information package, they mail out. She explained what type of surgery that i would be having which is the RNY at the presant time everything is done open, but she said she is in the process of getting approval for the board to start doing laprospic wls. YEA!!!!! But in all she was a nice individual and she knew all of information , she explained the risk os surgery the recovery time and the aftercare and she pointed out that after my surgery i would be a good canadaite for plasic surgery for the lower part of my stomach due to the fact i had 3 c-sections and the area in my lower abdomon is sagging and will sag even more after the wls.

My first impression of Dr. Kellam is how young she is. I guess she's in her early 30's. She was very informative and talked with me about the best procedure for me. Her staff is professional and courteous. She has always been very attentive and caring. One area that I know needs to be set up is peer group/support group of her patients.

I really liked Dr. Kellum. She was very nice to me, and took the time to give me a lot of information on the surgery. Teresa went thru my paperwork and said it looks good. She is going to have it to the insurance company by next week. I should hear something by late April.

I am now 2 weeks post op. Dr. Kellam has not been of any help since my surgery. She is evasive with my questions. She gave me information before the surgery, but it was not adequate. I am supposed to go see her weekly, yet she doesn't have appointments available for me to see her. Any future patients of Dr. Kellam, do MOUNDS of research on your own, and inundate her with questions. I had 4 pages of questions, and didn't get all of the information that I needed. She will not tell you anything that you do not ask.

She was young 40's and very knowledgeable, caring and sincere. I had done my research and had lots of questions that I asked and she each and every one with me. Her office staff were great, knowledgable and quick with the paperwork to get approvals. I would recommend Dr. Kellem to everyone and I have. She stresses walking as the best evercist and does not have a structured aftercare program. I know what I need to do as far as exercise is concerned, it is just a matter of doing it. I have a support group for other addictions and that helps a great deal. I would rate Dr. Kellem a strong 10, she treated me like a caring person and valued my concerns. She visited me early every morning of my week stay in the hospital.
