i`ve seen him once in the office & once moderating support group.
seems very empathethic. first dr. i`ve met that seem to really care about the obese patient.
part of his post op care is going to the grocery store with him.he says post-op gastric pts. have to learn how to read labels & eat the proper foods to remain healthy & keep the wt.off.also @ the support group mtg.has several work-out people telling you how to get stronger & exercising both before & after surgery.
after care appears to be a rather structured program from what i observed @ the mtg.
i`ll withhold further comments until i`ve actually had the surgery.
he addressed ALL aspects of surgery--fro drawing a diagram of your stomach & showing how he did the surgery to post op time in a nurs. home.he didn`t address how sick one would be afterward--but i don`t think you feel good after ANYsurgery.
i`m a nurse--- so i`m somewhat familiar with surg.
and i probably thought of more things than the average "joe".

When I called initially to make my appt it was going to be 3 months, then I was rescheduled 3 or 4 times making it 4 months until I finally got to the inital appt. My appt was at 3:00 and I think it was about 7:30 before I finally saw him. He was a very kind man with a lot caring and compassion. He did reassure me yes, i probably would die a premature death if I didn't lose some weight. He said they would send a letter to my insurance company and go from there. With the holdays, it may have taken a little longer but at the end of December I was notified that the procedure was approved by my insurance company. Judy from Dr Jaroch's office called me with a date for a EGD (due to an abnormal Upper GI), my pre-op exam, and my surgery date. RIght now it is 5 days until my surgery date. I can't believe it's really almost here. I just pray I make it thru the surgery. Dr Jaroch did tell me he has never lost a patient yet. I'm one of those people that has a great fear of being put to sleep. Fear of the unknown, I guess. It has been almost a year since I have started to pursue this avenue, but I can't wait until a year from now and see how much different my life will be and how much better I will feel. Dr Jaroch emphasizes after care very much. Fortunately for me he has done surgery on several people in this small little community. I have had great support from those people letting me know they don't regret it in the least. I would rate Dr Jaroch a 10.

Dr. Jaroch is a great surgeon, friend, and truely cares for each and every patient that he takes care of. He treats each person as if they were the only patient that he has. He is the best Dr. that I have had the pleasure of knowing. He had the best bedside manner and that is very rare. I was very fortunate to have him for my WLS. He saved my life because without him and his knowledge I would probably not be here today to write this. His staff are great and very caring also. Thank you to Laura, Judy, and Esther, you ladies are the best. Dr. Jaroch not only cares for you before and during your surgery but his after care is impecible. I highly reccomend him for any kind of surgery but especially his Gastric By-pass. Thank you again Dr. Jaroch for giving me back my life and giving me a brand new outlook in life and a longer life at that !!!!

I've had one consultation with Dr. Jaroch and was very impressed how thorough he was in explaining the surgery and why he has such a good track record for success. I went to one of his support meetings and was again impressed how much he seemed to care about his patients. He has monthly support group meetings which he attends and also grocery store "walk-thru"s each month where he teaches wise and healthy grocery shopping and other tips. I will attend my first one tomorrow. One of his patients started a website for us to post notes to each other - both pre-ops and post-ops. There is a lot of encouragement there. Also wonderful recipes are posted on a regular basis. I'm anxious to know him better.

Dr. Jaroch is an excellent doctor. He's easy
to talk to and explains everything throughly
to you. He has a VERY structured aftercare
program and once-a-month post-op meetings
that anyone may attend. I'm happy I chose
Dr.Jaroch and am very pleased with the
results,thus far!

My first meeting with him was at one of the POGABS meetings that he conducts on a monthly basis. I found him very warm and friendly and VERY FUNNY!!!

My dealings so far with his office staff have been top notch. I really feel that they are a caring group of people.

The cancelations were a bit frustrating but understandable. Since he is a general surgeon emergencies should come first. I sure would hate to wait for someone having elective surgery while my appendix was bursting or something. That is what I have told a couple of friends who I know have scheduled with him. Be prepared, you may get rescheduled a couple of times. I have no doubt in my head that he is worth the wait.

He is very involved in the aftercare which to me is one of the most important parts of having this proceedure done. He has said at meetings that he could easily perform twice as many of these operations in a month, but he wants to give personalized attention to his patients. (He is awsome!!) It seems to me that he is very strict with his aftercare as far as following a specific time frame of reintroducing food into the diet.

There is not another surgeon out there that I want to go to at this point. I have total confidence in him and I know that for me, he is a 15 on a scale of 1-10.

OH my, my, my, my, this doctor is absolutly WONDERFUL. My words fall short!! This man is caring, funny, understanding, and knowledgable. A great package if you ask me. Every visit I leave with a smile on my face and a future to look forward to. One thing that surprised me about this man was his shoes. They were warn in and comfortable looking. I always thought Dr's wore polished, perfect, tip top shape shoes. His was like mine...used. I don't know why but that made me more comfortable...his shoes? Funny, but it made me think of him as a person on my level, not a high and mighty Dr. He talked on my level, and explaind this surgery in great detail, giving the good with the bad. What to expect and how to prepare...He is very big on aftercare, which I am thankful for, he has support groups and store walk in's. He has monthly meetings and is available whenever I should call. I am happy with him and his shoes.
