Mehran Anvari Bariatric Surgeon

Dr Anvari was my surgeon on November 19, 2013. I found him and his team to be very knowledgeable and very caring. He and his team set my mind at ease, which resulted in a very good surgery experience. I would recommend this Doctor.

I didn't get to meet him until I was wheeled into the operating room so I can't tell you much about his personality. He was very nice and comforting while I was awake and he was great when he came in to see me a few days after surgery. I have had no complications and my incisions have healed nicely. He is great at what he does!

I first met Dr. Anvari as he wheeled my stretcher from the hallway into the operating room. He did my original surgery but was out-of-town right after so another doctor on his team did my second surgery two days later due to a complication that I was bleeding from the top staple. I also was seen by a a few others on his team and even though he was not always there I knew his team had been communicating and were all taking care of the issues quickly.

great doctor as he removed my gall bladder many years ago, so i trust him, lookin forward,meetting him again for this wls as i know he's the best at what he does .....

Well I met my surgeon just before I entered the surgery room! I finally could have put a face to the name! He did come the next day to see how I was doing, he was pleasant but left quickly!
Sadly I would have loved to have asked him many questions, but his office said I am to deal with the Bariatric clinic instead.
It is so different in the States they get to be with their doctor from the beginning right through until way after the surgery!
I am sure it is not Dr. Anvari's fault but the system on how they work in Ontario Canada

He did smell good when he can to visit my room!

Didn't actually meet Dr. Anvari until he checked me after surgery...the guy I had seen that did my endoscopy/colonoscopy and who talked to me first in the OR was someone different but very personable checked on me afterwards twice a day.
As far as first impression, hard to have one when he spent all of one minute asking how I felt. His bedside manner in that length of time was good.
I am very impressed with all other staff at St. Joe's Bariatric...nurses couldn't be more helpful and attentive and aftercare starts tomorrow.
I would rate Dr. Anvari a 6 out of 10 only because I never really got to meet him before surgery otherwise as far as skill and competence as a surgeon I would give him a 9+ as I have had no complications, out of hospital a day early, and feel great.

Very published, lots of info online about him..He was all business and his ego is bigger than the room but I expect no different from my surgeon..I do not care about bedside manner more if he is skilled surgeon and according to all published he is..
