Dr Blake is a very caring person. He is sensitive to the needs of his patients. He has the BEST bedside manner of any doctor I have every been to. His staff is wonderful..from nurses to front office to RD. Dr Blake educated me well in every aspect of the surgery. He was very honest about the complications that could arise during surgery since I have gastric stapling 20 yrs ago. He is the ONLY surgeon in Suffolk(Obici Hospital) that has a Weight Loss Support Group as part of his program...that was a very important factor to me. He is at every support group meeting for questioning. He monitors you closely after your surgery to help keep you on track. I had my surgery done 3 months ago & have lost 51 lbs so far. I owe my success to his weight loss program. I would highly recommend him to anyone considering WLS

Dr. Blake has preformed two surgeries on my husband. (Not WLS). He is a very gentle man but does not sugarcoat anything. He tells you the risks right up front. Support and aftercare are very important. Dr. Blake conducts the support group meetings that he requires you to attend with a friend or family member. Dr. Blake's staff is wonderful!! They heard that my husband may be changing jobs and called me to put me on a "Fast Track" so my upcoming surgery would not interfere with his new job and possible insurance changes. I already feel like family.

I had a very good first visit with Dr. Blake. He seems to care very much about his patients before, as well as after the surgery. He runs a support group monthly and holds seminars periodically to educate people who are considering the surgery or want to know more about it. His staff is also very helpful and friendly as well as patient. He stresses the importance of aftercare very strongly and has a structured aftercare program. The other patients of his that I have met seem to like him very much. He approaches the surgery with caution and insists that his patients have all their questions and concerns addressed BEFORE the surgery. I took this as a very responsible attitude which instills confidence. Although I haven't yet had my surgery, I recommend him highly.
