Dr Neil Floch is a warm, compassionate surgeon genuinely interested in helping you succeed at becoming a slimmer healthier person. He removed my LapBand which had not worked for me and 6 weeks later performed a LA gastric bypass. His performance on every level is 5 stars...I would give him the highest possible recommendation. I strongly doubt you will find a nicer, better, more knowledgeable, & more competent bariatric surgeon..His practice team also deserves a 5-rating from top to bottom.

July 6, 2013 I celebrated my 4 year Anniversary of having my Gastric Bypass surgery. To be honest I never thought I would have succeeded. I never thought I would have met the most concerning group of doctors at Fairfield County Bariatrics (Norwalk, CT). Dr. Neil Floch my surgeon and his staff changed my life. Battling obesity my whole life felt like a
chore instead he made it seem seamless through gastric bypass surgery. Through the years nothing has ever changed even being 200+ pounds lighter you still get the same courtesy and respect as if you walked into his office the first time. Your never treated as a number but as family. Dr. Neil Floch still gets an A+.

Dr. Neil Floch has the best bedside manner. Dr. Floch has performed 3 surgries on me and always made me feel comfortable. Dr. Floch's office staff is very knowledable on every aspect. You are greated with a warm smile and always able to discuess with them your concerns. Future patients need to know is that Dr. Neil, is very professional and always greats you with a warm smile. HE is concern about EVERY patient that is comes into contact with. The aftercare and still today is the best, never had any issues. Dr. Floch address every concern that I had including the list of tests before surgery. He was very through with his request and if you didn't understand he was there to guide you personally. As I tell people, Dr. Neil Floch saved my life. No other doctor has ever taken their time wiht me, he has. Dr.Floch is the best at what is does and what he says. Besides Dr. Floch doing my gastric bypass, he also removed my gallbladder and just recently did a hernia repair on me. He get's an A+...

Dr. Floch and his team are the best there is...I had my surgery 7 years ago when lapro-scopic band surgery was still new and have not had any problems, by now he has done thousands more without incident...It took me three years to lose the 175 pounds and today I still weigh about 125 pounds (5"6") and have been a size 4 consistently for the last four years...would not have been able to do it nor keep it off without the support of his office and his team...the surgeon is important but the post-op support is just as important...this is a life-altering experience and you need the nutritional counseling, group support of your peers and the medical information support from the entire office team to make this journey successful...If I had to do this over (fortunately do't have to) would still choose Dr. Floch and his team...Just do it..wish i did not wait until I was 50.

Hello,

For those of you considering WLS, and are not certain which surgeon to choose, I would like to recommend my surgeon, Dr. Neil Floch of Fairfield County Bariatrics. Not only is he one of the top weight loss surgeons in Fairfield County, but also in the State of Connecticut as well. My experience from the seminar, to the consultation, and the actual surgery and post-op follow-up was completely flawless! Dr. Neil Floch is a leader in the industry when it comes to not leaving any stone unturned. I had contacted the office to set up an appointment, and was informed that I had to attend a mandatory seminar to educate myself on the procedures that were offered in his practice. Once I attended a very informative seminar, I made an appointment for an in-depth consultation with Dr. Neil Floch. After our consultation, I met with the various doctors, who examined me and also cleared me for my gastric bypass procedure. When I went back to Dr. Neil Floch to choose the type of procedure I wanted, I was given a quiz about the procedure I had chosen. He wanted to make sure I knew every aspect of my decision, and educated myself on this particular procedure. Fairfield County Bariatrics has been absolutely wonderful, and I know that I have had a fantastic outcome as a result of my choice of this surgeon, the entire practice, and Norwalk Hospital.

Please don't go into this journey without researching your surgeon, their practice, and the hospital they are affiliated with. My outcome is very successful because I've done my homework and studied for this new lifestyle I was about to embark upon. My scars are faded if not completely invisible, and to look at me now, you would never know I had a weight loss surgical procedure performed. I was very attentive to the instructions given to me from Dr. Neil Floch's team. Fairfield County Bariatrics has a team in place that assists you every step of the way as you move towards a much healthier lifestyle. I met with his Nutritionist for an education on Bariatric eating, and I've also met with his Life Coach who conducts monthly support meetings at the hospital, and it's no cost to the patient to attend these support group meetings. When I came home from having my gastric bypass procedure, I did not need to take any pain medication, and was up and walking the same day I came home.

It's very important to choose a surgeon, who is supportive, caring, and well-educated in this specialized field. You'll be assured and confident that your final outcome will be successful. Fairfield County Bariatrics has five different locations, which basically covers a good portion of the state for those of you who live either far North or far South, there's an office to accommodate your needs. Please look at all of your options, and Google this practice at www.endtheweight.com

On 2/12/13 I had a revision of a Vertical Band Gastroplasty (VBG) that was done in 2006 by another bariatric surgeon-this procedure never worked for me-I never lost any weight and what I did I gained back.I was told by that surgeon I was non-complaint with my diet because I did not lose any weight.Over the next 6 yrs I had increasing health problems and I decided to try to have Gastric Bypass,my husband had great success with his procedure and lost 140+ lbs.I went to an informational seminar that was hosted by Dr Neil Floch at St Vincent's Medical Center in Bpt.From the time I met Dr Floch both my husband and I knew that Dr Floch was the surgeon for me.We spoke to him after the seminar just to ask him if he did revisions to previous bariatric surgery and he said he would be more than happy to,many surgeons refused to see me because of the procedure I already had done because they did not believe in this procedure.Once I met with Dr Floch and we started the ball rolling it took several monthes but it was the best thing I think I have ever done.Dr Floch explained everything simply and easily and answered every question that was asked of him.I have never met a surgeon quite like Dr Floch or his staff especially his 2 Physician Assistant's Becky amd Megan.I have recieved the best care possible from all of them as well as the staff at St vincent's medical Center. If you are thinking about bariatric surgery these are the people to go to.I have been an RN for 31yrs and medical people are very critical of people in our own profession, but there is nothing I can say except "THANK YOU" for a job well done.

First impression is very understanding, great bedside manner.
Office staff is wonderful and supportive.

Will add more info AFTER I have VSG.

7/27 - Almost 2 weeks after surgery and what can I say? After being sick for the first day and half day after, my recovery has been smooth sailing. I attribute that to my surgeon's skills. I am healing so quickly and painlessly, it's amazing. I was only off work for 3 days. I had surgery on a Wednesday and was back by Monday. I didn't have one bruise from this surgery. I only bruised at the IV site (not him). I just cannot believe what a great job he did.

LOVE HIM! He's simply the best doctor I have ever had to deal with. I will always look to him for advice. Having the best of both worlds with him for surgical skills AND bedside manner. It really means a lot.

rnMy surgeon was wonderful!!! I love him and he mad this whole experience a pleasure. He explained everything to me from start to finish. I knew what I was getting into from the begining. He gave me all of the positives for Gastric Bypass Surgery and all of the negatives. I started six months ago meeting my doctor at a seminar. My doctor was not pushy at all. He just wanted to let me know what this procedure was all about. I believe surgical competence and a bedside manner is a great combination. My doctor had them both. I highly reccomend him.

I first met Dr. Neil Floch when I attended a weight loss seminar. Working in a Dr.'s office myself I figured doing these seminars was probably not on his list of favorites. But it never showed, his presentation was terrific, although frightening with all the obesity statistics. His office staff called me the very next day to get the ball rolling. I wasn't quite sure Lapband was for me though and asked the woman calling if I could wait. She was very calm and didn't try to persuade me at all. She simply wanted to get started processing my insurance so I would know if I was even covered for this procedure as I made my decision. A few weeks later I had my consultation with Dr. Floch. I had filled out a very detailed history, and we went over it together. He told me about all the risks. He answered all my questions. He conveyed warmth and confidence. He told me all about the care that would be required afterwards for optimum results. He explained that the band was not magic, and that it would require a lot of work from me too. I went home and got started on all my pre op testing. A few weeks later after all my testing I started to get cold feet. I met with him again to discuss some concerns I had and he addressed them all without trying to convince me. He talked to me again about the survey I had filled out and his impression when he first met me. I knew he was right, and that I was just feeling scared, but that this was truly something I wanted. He said we could certainly wait, and didn't want me to feel like I would be letting anyone down if I wasn't truly ready. I left the office and began my pre op diet. 2 weeks later I saw him again on surgery day. He came in, met my husband, reassured him, reassured me and off we went to the OR. I had a few problems afterwards, and ended up staying another night, but he was in touch with my nurses and visited me daily. I really have nothing negative to report. When I call his office I am always taken seriously, and every effort is made to accomodate me. They reassure me that what I am feeling is normal, or have had me come in if I was feeling uncertain about anything. I've never felt like I was bothering them in the least. Everyone in the office is supportive and wants to see you succeed. Dr. Neil Floch has done both of my fills himself, and found the port with no porblems at all.

Dr. Neil Floch put me at ease the first moment I met him at the seminar he held at the Hospital. He also gave me hope. I developed type-2 Diabetes as I got heavier over the years and felt awful with the medication \"cocktail\" I was on.rnIn attending the seminar, I felt like Dr. Floch and his office could provide me with the necessary tools I needed to fight this battle in my life, on my own I couldn't do it. The numbers were overwhelming.rnDr. Floch impressed me with his positive and caring manner. I also like that he was very cautious and looked at everything in my medical history. The office staff is all wonderful and everyone is positive and nurturing. Aftercare is strongly stressed. The risks of the surgery were never swept under the carpet but i felt the risk of not doing this and living with diabetes and the side effects of the medications was greater. I couldn't give Dr. Floch and his office a high enough rating. They are an exceptional team that operatives with the highest integrity and professionalism. I am so happy that they came into my life at this time. Now it's up to me to eat right, exercise and attend the support groups.rn
