When I first met Dr. gabriel I had a good feeling about him and his practice and thought that I had made the right choice when I picked him, I was told that I was a great candidate for a lapband and was scheduled to have my surgery in june of 2010 but I needed to have my gall bladder removed because of a 4 cm stone. Once I had my gall bladder removed I was on schedule to have my lap band procedure 6 weeks later only to be called by the office manager 2 weeks prior to surgery and told that I was being bumped due to a triple overlap in booking. I was rescheduled for six months later, which was the earliest opening that he had and again, just a couple of weeks before this second appointment I was called and told the same excuse of being one of four people scheduled for a surgery on the same day and time. The office assistant, I think his name was mike told me that the next surgery available would be the following june or july of 2011. It was at that point that I cancelled my plans to get a lap band with this office. All the pre op testing gone to waste. I should have done more homework before selecting this office to do my procedure.

Very Nice. Concerned with making sure all the pre-tests are done and that you have a full understanding of the surgery and post-op. I have nothing but praise for Dr. Gabriel and Dr. De Csepel. Dr. De Csepel assisted Dr. Gabriel during my surgery and he is the Chief of Minimally Invasive Surgery at Saint Vincent's Hospital and Medical Center in NYC. He has performed numerous lap band surgeries. I feel completely confident with him. Dr. Gabe has done tons of lap bands in and out of the US and really knows what he is doing. My follow ups with him are always great and even though I don't stay in touch with him as much as I should he really cares and has a wonderful and supportive disposition.

When I first met Dr. Nick Gabriel I felt at ease immediately!! He was EXTREMELY knowledgeable about all aspects of the surgery. My consultation was very thorough and explained the surgery completely. I also found that Dr. Gabriel had a wonderful sense of humor...which really helps you feel comfortable and I felt free to ask any questions and not be embarassed. His staff is WONDERFUL..very friendly, caring and very helpful in getting my insurance approval. They were also helpful after my surgery with questions and they called often to see my progress.
Immediately following my approval Dr.Gabriel set the date for my surgery. My surgery went extremely well....all thanks to Dr. Gabriel and his staff.
After the surgery I followed the drs aftercare program and I had one of the best postop experiences. I would rate Dr. Gabriel 10 out of 10!!! I feel with his surgical competence, his wonderful bedside manner and sense of humor that he is one of best surgeons that performs this life saving surgery!

Dr. Gabriel is absolutely wonderful! I was extremely comfortable with him from my 1st appointment - He is kind, compassionate and very impressive. On your 1st appointment, he shows you a video of the surgery and discusses all details including risks at that time. I hold Dr. Gabriel in the highest esteem; I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone willing to go to NYC for the surgery. His staff is friendly and competent; they are educated in Weight Loss Surgery and were able to answer most my questions. Any questions they could not answer, Dr. Gabriel called me himself and I found this most impressive. I was introduced to Dr. Gabriel through Partnership in Weight Control (Denville, NJ) and together, they put together a very comprehensive before and after care program. Dr. Gabriel is a superb surgeon with excellent bedside manner. I give Dr. Gabriel a 10+

My first impression of Dr. Gabriel was that he was a nice man who wanted to ease the tension of the room and make everyone feel as comfortable as possible. I like the fact that he schedules 4 patients at a time and gives a detalied 40 minute combination verbal/video presentation before your consulation. Any future patients should know that Dr. Gabriel is serious and he won't operate on just anyone, he wants to make sure that you know what your doing and that your willing to change your life for the better. He'll explain to you that this surgery is just a tool and that your results rely solely on you! He also expresses that aftercare is very important and explains in depth the risks of each surgery that he performs.

I liked him a lot--looked him up on his website (by his name)--seems to be very proficient as he teaches laparoscopy surgery as well. Met with him twice so far--very impressed with his "look"--very "anal-retentive"-looking which is what I'm told you want in a surgeon (one who will cut very carefully and check everything twice--or more!!)As I'm wheelchair bound, he wanted quite a lot of additional pre testing done, as he wanted to be sure of everything--a pain for me but definitely shows his level of care. I thought it was good that he spent quite a bit of time in a support group meeting. He was very clear about all the risks and then some. I'll have more to relay when I know more.
