Paul Arcand Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

Dr. Arcand is by far the most wonderful doctor I've ever had the pleasure to meet. He made me feel so comfortable when I was so scared, and it feels like I'm visiting a family friend every time I meet with him. Absolutely wonderful experience!!!!

I went to Doctor Arcand for a consult on a revision and right away he greeted me with a smile and a handshake and made me feel very comfortable. He explains every thing very well and takes his time. He had no problem answering my question and was very knowledgeable. His experience shows and he seems to show he cares and tries very hard. I didn't think much of his office staff, except the nurse she was wonderful and very friendly, also making me feel welcome and comfortable. Overall so far my experience with him I am very satisfied that I have chosen the right doctor to help me. I have faith he will do all he can for me and if I have surgery with him I am comfortable in knowing I am in good hands........Patti Fournier

I like Dr. Arcand. While he seems to be a bit jumpy and unsettled (qualities I don't particularly want in a surgeon) he was extremely helpful in answering questions. I've only heard great things about him - from both my primary care physician and from others in the hospital I've come across.rnrnI found it easy to ask even difficult questions, and Dr. Arcand didn't leave until I was satisfied.rnrnDr. Arcand addressed the risks of the surgery and balanced them against the reality of not having it done: diabetes, heart disease, etc. My mind was already made up to have the gastric bypass, but he confirmed everything I had been thinking.rnrnSo far, I would highly recommend him and the program he is associated with.

DR. ARCAND MADE ME FEEL AT EASE AND WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL. This man is amazing. He is very meticulous, and will not do your surgery unless conditions are perfect--and his reputation reflects that. He has had very few complications and no fatalities. I am a nurse so reputation was the most important thing for me. I would put my life in his hands again in a heartbeat. I trust his abilities implicitly and his follow up is incredible. He genuinely wants his patients to succeed and works with you through any problems or concerns you have before and after your surgery. Maintenance for lap band patients is very important and he follows through with aftercare very thoroughly.

Dr. Arcand is a very busy person he has lots on his plate..he loves what he does and he cares very much for all of his patients. He has a wonderful office staff they make you feel welcome. he tells you everything you want to know..for exm the risks of the surgery what could happen ..for everybody is different and he stress for all his patients to stay with the program they have meeting every month and you could meet people that had the surgery and all the staff. He is an excellent surgeon he has golden hands...he is very professional and he has a wonderful bedside manner he treats you like family..

The first time I saw Dr. Arcand was at the info session and he looked friendly but he was extremely rushed and had to skip through the presentation because he was needed elsewhere. Although I admire the dedication to his current patients, I wish he was able to devote more time to the new patient orientations. It is a huge program though and maybe they should consider having two surgeons. Over time however I have been able to see how truly dedicated Dr. Arcand is to his patients and practice. He is so kind hearted and really undertands our struggles. He called me at home one night (before he even met me) when I was discouraged and gave me a huge confidence boost. He talked to me like we were old friends, not like some doctors who have a \"god complex.\" He changed my whole attitude and helped me focus on how far Ive come these past two years. Even though his program is one of the more stricter programs, its all worth it. If you follow the rules you have a much better chance for success in the long run. And they emphasize that you will always be their patient and they will always be your support system. Dr. Arcand seems to have every characteristic of an amazing surgeon and he loves his job. After getting to know him I don't think I would trust anyone but him to operate on me.

Dr. Arcand is definately one of the people in my life that I will never ever forget. His program is a bit more strict than others in my area and I thank God for that. He requires a 10% weight loss, a thorough psych eval with a 6 week behavoir group follow up, and 3 appts. with nutrition. You must go to a one month follow up group when your six weeks with behavior med is done and a once a month weight check with nutrition until your 10% is met. The success rate of his patients is phenomenal because of his program being so thorough.

His bedside manner is second to none. He is the sweetest, kindest, gentleman. His office staff are the greatest also. I saw him at 1 week po, 6wks po, and 6 mos. po. He also asks that you attend a once a month support group for post ops. I would reccommend Dr. Arcand to anyone.

Dr. Arcand is a compassionate doctor. Throughout the entire process, he has shown this deep compassion (for all his patients). His office staff is very caring and always there to answer any question you have.

Dr. Arcand was (is) very detailed about everything that he does. He explained in drawings, what he was going to do to me, and he also sat with me after surgery, explained what went on, and then, told me EXACTLY what to expect in days to come, and he was right on the money! When things happened to my body, I knew it was ok, because he had explained it all to me. Nothing was left out. I feel very confident in my recuperation process.

I can't find one negative thought when describing Dr. Arcand. I really can't!
