Dr Wizman has been wonderful. His staff is so helpful. They never make you feel like you are an imposition. If you leave a message, they call you right back. Dr Wizman and his staff are very concerned with your after care as well. Support groups, speakers, clothing exchanges...etc. I remember the last day in the hospital, he came to release me and chit chat and he was so warm and funny. He is "a person" as well as a great surgeon. I was so glad the I chose him.

My first impression of Dr.Wizman was ENERGY...followed quickly by confidence...and on the heals of that was sense of humor and a streak of cockiness. Let me ask you...who would you rather have working on you? Give me a cocky surgeon anyday!
He is very through...very knowledgeable...and getting VERY busy. I like him very much. He is very focused on the aftercare program and wants to make sure you know all the risks of surgery.
The staff in his office are all very nice, but also are feeling the burden of the expanding practice. You get the feeling that they are running through a script when talking to them, they looked a little off track when I would make a joke or ask an odd question. But let me state again, they are all really very, nice, helpful and k nowledgeable.

02-10-2003- I did finally meet with the physician. He seems to be a very caring man. He seems to listen when there is something you are not clear on. The majority of his staff seems to be very helpful and understanding.Kendra is Wonderful and so is Faye, but avoid the front desk woman. She is just MEAN. I kinda feel that I am put aside from the other patients because I am coming from 3 and 1/2 hours away. I really hope that is not the case.

First impression: very nice and professional

Imression change: only improved

Staff: friendly , nice and prompt

Least favoritething about Dr.: He's very sure of himself almost cocky but not.

I think you should know: he is becoming, busy, but he knows what he is doing. you never have to doubt his abilities as a surgeon

You must participate in his aftercare program meeting 1x a month a regular dr, visits.

He will discuss at almost annoying length the risks of the surgery and the risks petaingin you you based upon your age and health. and they review them again in detail at your pro op education classes.

I rate him nearly perfect, because I think he would rate himself perfect.

Dr. Wizman makes sure his nurses and the nurses in the hospital give excellent care. He has rooms just for his patients and they are becoming very lnowledgeable about the needs of bariatric patients. He is very personable when he comes to see you in the hospital but he's fast.

Well Dr. Wizman is a very little man for one! However who would have ever known such a little man could do such big and beautiful things. My favorite quality about him is that he is very honest and up front. He did not tell me how beautiful I would look after surgery. Instead, the first thing he asked me was, "are you sure that you want this surgery. He said Kisha, you are so young and matter of fact you are my youngiest patient. To do this is a big change in your life and I need to know if you are really ready for this!" Those where his exact words. I told him "yes."

First impression of Dr Wizman was at the information session. His sidekick Kendra and Dr Wizman were very informative, gave straight up honest information, and I appreciated that. I cannot say anything negative about them, They made the whole experience a pleasant one.His surgical competence is outstanding, and I was nervous at first, but my fears were alleviated by the hospital staff in preop, and Dr. Wizman and Kendra.

My first impression of Dr. Wizman was he
is a funny guy. What a great sense of humor.
As we talked I found out how compassionate
and caring he is. He truly understands our
suffering. What impressed me most was when
he told me we are a TEAM and procededed to
explain how and why. His staff is GREAT and
also fun, which helps ease the tension of a
first visit. The only negative was the long
office wait, but, I really didn't mind because when my turn arrived I was given all
the time I needed. Overall rating is an A+++.

My first impression of Dr. Wizman once one of immediate confidence. He tells it like it is, and pulls no punches. We didn't get to spend much time together on my first visit, but he got his point across and made my husband & I feel very comfortable and secure in our choice.

Over time I have found Dr. Wizman to be an extremely caring doctor. His main concern is his patient's welfare and well being. He makes himself available to his patients 24/7 and will go out of his way to alliviate any problem you may have.

His office staff is just as dedicated to caring for the patient as Dr. Wizman is himself. I have never seen either Kendra or Leslie in a bad mood or unresponsive to a patient's needs & questions, no matter how busy they are. They make each patient feel extra special.

There isn't much to criticize about Dr. Wizman or his staff. Except, purhaps, his habit of being never being on time. But that is something one learns to live with.

I have personally recommended 2 patients to him (one has already completed surgery) and my PCP has referred at least 3 more. A new patient needs to understand that they are putting their lives in the hands of a fabulous individual, who has a gift that he shares with others. They need to know that Dr. Wizman feels that by doing Bariatric Surgery he is fulfilling a need and raising the quality of his patient's lives. This is not being egotistic, it is being altruistic.

His emphasis on aftercare is paramount. The support group that is run out of his practice is informative and fun. His office staff make sure that at each meeting there is a specialist, i.e. Plastic Surgeion, Dietician, Psychologist, invited in to speak to those present. We have even started a clothing exchange to help defray the cost of all those new clothes we need.

Dr. Wizman's information and pre-op classes/meetings address every possible risk to the surgery. He and his staff are available to answer any questions the patient may have. He takes great care to point out all the risks and makes sure that patient understands them and is comfortable with them.

On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the best, I would rate Dr. Wizman a least a 12. His surgical competence and bedside manner are terrific.

He is a doctor who is not afraid to admit that he doesn't know everything. In my past experiences, that is a rare animal and one to be looked on with admiration.

I found Dr. Wizman to be very organized and accurate. My impression hasnt changed much of him. His staff is THE BEST. They dont even seem to mind that I call all the time for stupid questions. Dr. Wizman is a fellow Canadien so therefor a great guy. The aftercare is so important that not only does he charge, but he wont do the procedure if you dont pay adn promice to go to support. The aftercare is very well structured. The risk are gone over and we have to take a pre op test. I love hime and his staff for giving me a chance at a new way of life. I cant wait. He seems to have both down to an art, what he might miss down the road his staff amkes up for.
