Peter Sarantos Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

Dr. Peter Sarantos is very pleasant to speak with and listens to your concerns. He has the best bedside manner of any physician I have ever met, I have never heard anyone ever complain or say anything negative about him or his staff. The fact that he is a GEORGOUS GREEK may make me a little bit bias. Although his staff is great they keep up with all the patients and are very polite. I have yet to find anything about him or his staff that would turn me away. The only thing that I could let future patients know about Dr. Sarantos and his staff is that if you were to choose them you wouldn't have any concerns when you left his office. They are very thurough with patient care and after care. The phone calls after surgery are reassuring and boost your esteem. You finally feel like you are succeeding at your weight loss goals. Having to rate Dr. Sarantos, he will always be the best in my book, no one else will ever compair to him. He is the perfect 10!h His wife isn't bad either. Perfection must run in the family.

WoW! He is very friendly and willing to answer any questions. He tells the patient the risks as well as what potentially could be the reward if the pt follows through. He is nothing shy of insanely hot, but his personality is very welcoming. I had great vibes. He doesnt treat the obese any different than he would a normal size patient. For the first time in years I didnt feel like a whale in the doctors exam room. He softly poked and proded my belly ( soon to be gone so I hope he got his fill! :) and made me fell very comfortable with my decision.rnHe started me on a preop diet and I am going to be 100% by the book. I told him before he left that \"I will be his star patient, I am going to work hard and lose the weight!\"rnrnSurgery day he was very comforting! He spoke with my family as well as myself before surgery. I was in pieces until I saw him, his presence is reassuring.rnHis bedside is as wonderful as he is. He took his time and again spoke with my family.rnI did my research before picking a surgeon. The nurses that have scrubbed with him at NFRMC say he is wonderful! thought he was very nice and cute. My impression has not changed although he did'nt sit on my bed like he did my girlfriends. the staff is very friendly and answer all questions you ask with a smile.There is nothing i didn't like about him.He talks to you as if you are his only patient, he makes you feel very comfortable and special.he repeats himeself often if you are nor following the rules, it's for your best interest.I think he is very structured and tells you like it is.He was very up front with me ,telling me if I'm not comitted to this then don't have it done.I recommend him to anyone looking for a devoted doctor. surical competence is most important

DR Sarantos is very caring, he makes you feel comfortable and is very attentive.
His staff is very helpfull and his assistant couldnt be any nicer, she is very knowledgable and makes you feel at ease through the entire process.
Aftercare is a HUGE part of having the surgery and they follow your progress for 18 months post-op as well as seeing a nutritionist in the same office at each visit. I have absolutly NO dislikes or "I wish I had's" about choosing this sergon, and his staff. I was called daily for a week to be checked on when I came home from the hospital. They were with me every step of the way.

He seems real nice and very informative. His staff is very helpfuland friendly. The support group is great. Aftercare is very important and to follow up for 18 months.

After having surgrey and doing 2 week check-up, I feel that I picked the best Dr in the world. After speaking with several people and having a few visits with Dr. Sarantos I feel he has a great up beat personallity and he listens. That is very important.
The office staff is nice also

I thought he was a very nice man. Very informative and took time to understand my needs and what I was looking for. He covered all aspects of the surgery. Covered all the risks to problems it could cause with relationships. His staff was very nice never had a problem working with them. The only thing I can honestly say I did not like was the office appearance. Small not very updated. Not much room for all patients to sit. Chairs not very accomadating for MO people. For the money they make, a couple things could have been changed to make us patients more at home. Plants would have been nice. He has a 18 mth aftercare plan with his patients for follow up. He is overall has a great bedside manner and I feel completely confident in his surgical skills. He does mostly wls. Over 400 wls a in a year roughly. (Includes all doctors in practice)No doubt in my mind that he is a great surgeon. Did I mention on top of everything he is also cute.

First impression of Dr. Sarantos was he knew what he was talking about plus very cute.
The next visit was very good he re-ensured me that everything would be fine and he was right.
His staff was very nice. There was nothing i did not like about Dr. Sarantos. That he really does care. After care is very important to him you must follow the diet the give you, he did his part now it is up to you to do yours. They have an 18 month program after surgery. He went over the risk with me and my husband the number 1 risk after surgery is blood clots you must get up and get moving after surgery that same day.
I would rate Dr. Sarantos 100% overall he is great. Surgical competence & bedside manner were both great.

My first impression of Dr. Sarantos was that he is a man that takes the time to get to know his patients, and that he does what he thinks is best for each individual patient. I believe he is a wonderful man. He put my family's worries about WLS at ease when they had the chance to meet with him also. The office staff tho was less than desirable. His Office Manager that is responsible for filing the paper work to insurance companies for approval tends to drop the ball, and if you don't stay on her, then you never know if you have been accepted or denied. Dr. Sarantos has a very detailed after care program that lasts for approximately 18 months, depending on how soon they get you in for appointments post-op. There is a contract you must sign at the initial consultation that states that you agree to his terms of follow up, and he makes you repeat those to him. He was very thorough in his explanations of the benefits and the risks of WLS, and his statistics of patients that have done well to those that havent. He definitely is a man that I would recommend for anybody in North Central Florida considering WLS. His competency and bedside manner are great.

My first impression of Dr. Sarantos was that he was very professional. He came across as knowing the business he does very well. Bariatric Surgery is very complex and he explained it to me in a way that was very understandable. Upon my first visit which was 01/06/04, the entire staff made you feel like they were only there to help you. Dr. Sarantos will answer any question you have, no matter how stupid it may sound when it comes out. Dr. Sarantos is very subtle in the way he explains about the post-op surgery, but the emphasis is there and you know what he means (business). Dr. Sarantos explains that the post-op process is as important as the pre-op testings. Dr. Sarantos tells of all the complications that may occur during or after surgery and seems to have a grip on all of the ways of avoiding or handling each situation as it arises. Dr. Sarantos is a very professional physician and seems very capable of handling MY gastic by-pass surgery. Will update as my appointments progress.
