I found Dr. Quilici, although rather reserved, very businesslike and informative at our first consult. I do not necessarily seek out "warm and fuzzy" in a doctor. I feel much more confident with someone who is more concerned about imparting all pertinent information to make an informed decision. When he came to see me right before surgery, his reassurance was just what I needed.
His staff and support, understandably busy, are caring and efficient. They seem to go a step beyond with a personal touch. The aftercare provided I believe is the essential part to the success of his clients. I would give Dr. Quilici the highest rating - my surgery and initial recovery has been remarkably easy a testament to his skills and experience.

My first impression of Dr. Quilici was that he is very kind, caring, and respectful. During our consult, his cell phone rang. He asked me if I would mind if he answered the call (wow!) and when I told him I didn't mind, he apologized profusely for having to take it and thanked me for allowing him to do so. When he was through with the call, he felt he had to explain himself (sweet) and told me it was the hospital asking him to ok a release of one of his pts. He then apologized again for interrupting the consult, and again thanked me for letting him take the call. He is extremely polite and has a gentle nature. He made sure I was comfortable w/the info he was giving me. He was very thorough. He's got a very extensive after care program. You must agree to go support group after surgery (run by a registered dietician, Sally, who's terrific!!). I met with her for 45 mins on the day of my consult. WOW!! She is extremely thorough and provides excellent visual aides. As far as pre-op goes, I rate Dr. Quilici a 10 of 10. Since I haven't had surgery yet, I'll come back here post-op w/an update.

My first meeting with Dr. Quilici was a little rushed because he was soooo busy. I spent 1 1/2 hrs with Sally, the nutrionist/coordinator tho. My impression was that he was efficient and competent. I'll update more after my second mtg with him.

Dr. Quilici was very nice, friendly and informative.
He had performed the surgery on my roommate with great sucess. The team that works with his are great. Dr. Tovar is great. He did my post surgical check-ups. He answered all of my questions and is very nice. Sally Meyers is the dietician. She is wonderful. She sees patients everyday of the week and has always responded to my emails whenever I've had a question. I feel very comfortable calling the office if I have any questions or concerns.

Once I entered the hospital, the only time I saw him was right before the surgery. His bedside manner was kind and sensistive. I'd rate him a 10.

One thing I would say to future patients. Plan on waiting an hour to see him at the office. They usually run at least an hour late sometimes more.

I have known Dr. Quilici for several years as I am a RN in one of the hospital he has priviledges. He is a perfectionist, which is great in a surgeon. The nurses I work with have only good things to say about him. He can be a little high strung, but his good looks help you forget that. His partner, Dr. Tovar, is mellow, and he is also easy on the eyes. The office staff is pleasant, however, most of the time you have to wait over an hour to see him. So make your appointment as early as possible, and try and be one of the first ones in. There is a very structured aftercare program. Because I was approved so quickly and was able to schedule my surgery two weeks after I was approved, I have not yet attended a support group meeting. Dr. Quilici provides you with a three-ring binder detailing the operation, follow up, the entire programm. He also has a very informative website.

I had read many review of Dr. Quilici, and chose him because of his location (near my home) and the positive reviews on this website about him. Mostly, Not one of his patients has died from the WLS procedure that he has performed. He has been performing this type of surgery for years. And,Dr. Quilici performs this surgery in about an hour, that means, less time under anesthsia.

Dr Quilici had preformed surgery on me before so I knew that I was in competent hands -- surgical competence is more important to me than bedside manner. He provides you with a WLS notebook that contains the risks, lifestyle changes, etc., everything you need to know to make an informed decision. His office offers support groups for pre and post op patients. These support groups are an excellent way to learn firsthand about the surgery and the results as well as side effects. His staff is incredible and always available to help finalize last minute details and answer questions. Overall I would rate him and his staff a 10+.

Dr. Quilici is a great doctor and he has a great staff. Sally, the bariatric coordinator and nutritionist, is great and always ready to answer any questions you might have. Pearl is also very helpful and always is very friendly when I go in for my checkups.
Dr. Tovar who performs the surgeries alongside Dr. Quilici was the one who did my followups in the hospital after the surgery while Brian, physician assistant, has been seeing me since I was discharged. Both are very nice.
The wait (in the waiting room) is long for every appointment I have had so far but now I go prepared with reading material and water so it isn't too bad.
