Dr. Huynh has a very calming demeanour and was so personable and helpful. He answered all my questions and provided additional information as well....I would highly recommend both him and the ladies who work in his office, Sylvia is amazing!

i liked dr. huynh from the very first visit. he is very kind ,caring and understanding. he has a great bedside manner and does not rush you when you are in for an office visit. very easy to talk to and has an excellent sense of humor. would reccommend him highly. totally stressess after care and informs you that he is available if you have any questions or concerns. he's only a phone call away. he is very straight forward when describing the types of surgery, the risks involved and the responsibilities of aftercare. office staff have been very friendly and helpful. this was my very first surgery. had never had surgery before or been put under. dr huyhn and the entire staff in the operating room were very attentive and compasionate. i cannot sing enough praises about dr huyhn. he is my guardian angel. my hospital stay at humber river was a different type of experience. they appear to be short staffed , short on pillows and blankets and with the exception of a couple of nurses i found them to be lacking in bed side manner. i was also surprised and maybe its the same in all hospitals that there was not a bariatric ward. i had this misconception that i would be staying with other bariatric patients and we could learn from each other. not the case. guess i shouldnt have assumed and maybe wouldnt have been so disappointed in hospital stay.

I literally met him the day of my surgery because I was supposed to have my surgery with Dr. Klein but it got switched last minute. He was very nice and made sure after the surgery to go talk to my support people who were sitting in the lobby about the surgery, which was awesome. He also saw me the day after my surgery, as did 3 other doctors/nurses/whatever that were in the surgery helping him, so I ended up with visitors quite frequently, which was awesome. When I went for my follow up he was very nice, and answered all my questions very thorouhly. His office staff were great, very kind. I wish I had done all of my pre-op stuff with him because he was much nicer then Dr. Klein, although Dr. klein is an amazing doctor. I also had to call his office a couple of times the day after surgery, and he called me back directly instead of his secretary calling me, which was awesome.

My first impression of Dr. Huynh is that he is young, but knowledgable. Very straight forward yet polite about it.

The office staff are friendly.

My rating after only meeting him once would be 7 out of 10

Dr Huynh was very professional and matter of fact during the first visit. All information was presented by him with diagrams and a careful description of the surgery. He mentioned that he liked it when a patient was proactive in their own health care and encouraged me (and others) to use the internet and any other sources of info to gain more knowledge of the surgery we are undertaking.

On my second visit I came prepared with more questions and in the process said something off hand that amused him, making him smile. After that he seemed to relax and I felt more comfortable about asking any questions that were on my mind. I guess it made him more personable and that made me more comfortable. By the day of surgery I was very pleased with the rapport we had achiev.

I was quite pleased with the office staff of this group of surgeons. They were professional and caring, relatively prompt returning phone calls and forthcoming with information. Considering the number of patients that go through that office in a day, I would have to say I admire their ability to maintain their cheerfulness.

I cannot think of anything negative to say about Dr Huynh or the office staff. My experience with them has been all positive.

There is a dietician and a therapist that must be seen pre surgery as part of the program with this bariatric centre. However, they need more staff. I think it could be beneficial if they could offer or at least encourage patients considering this surgery and who have not already done so, to have much more intensive psychotherapy than what seems to be available through this bariatric program. Perhaps they could refer patients or suggest they ask their own GP to refer them to a therapist who specializes in eating disorders. I truly believe this would benefit the patient greatly both pre and post op, since the issues with food do not stop once the surgery is done.

Post care seems to be an area that needs beefing up. The dietician does a check up and notifies you if there is adjustment needed in your vitamins etc. and the therapist is there if you call and say you have a problem. I just feel that it needs more refinement and more accessibility. I have talked to the dietician about how helpful I would have found a recipe book for post surgery or at the very least a few suggestions of how to make eating more interesting.

Overall I would rate this surgeon and his bariatric centre as almost excellent - but then I have nothing to compare it to. I feel that surgical competence is most important but that bedside manner is also a major factor in helping a patient have a positive attitude and therefore a positive outcome of any procedure.

Having said that I would also point out that I believe their must also be personal responsibility. The patient's overall attitude, mental state of preparedness for surgery and how you address and respond to your surgeon will help to put your surgeon at ease and perhaps make you more memorable to him/her. After all, they see so many patients and we see the them so little pre and post op that if you become a personality and not just a patient I think it helps to bring out the best in your relationship with your surgeon.

I can only say that I AM VERY PLEASED WITH DR HUYNH, HIS OFFICE STAFF,
P.S
I Copyed This off of another person who has the same dotor I COULD NOT FIND ANY BETER WORDS THEN THIS PERSON,,,THANK YOU

I've been to see Dr. Huynh twice. I was advised that the MIS Group is a Centre of Excellence in Canada. rnrnI thought Dr. Huynh was very nice - he is very gentle. He explained the surgery to me along with the risks including the risk of death. rnrnThis is a busy office. My file got mixed up with someone else's (similar name) so from now on I will take the responsibility to always double check to ensure they have the correct file. rnrnThe doctor's office made the necessary referrals (doctor, social worker, dietician) and they followed up as they promised.rnrnSo far, I would rate Dr. Huynh as excellent. I have nothing negative to say about the surgeon and I feel confident that he knows what he is doing.
