I went to the meeting where they talked with people who wanted to get it and wanted to know more about the surgery.. The surgeon who did the presentation was Dr. Chahal. I immediately felt close to him even though we didn't even talk to each other yet. So once the presentation was over, i made a consultation with him. I loved him right when he came into the room. This doctor just knows what he's talking about for such a young doctor. He answered all my questions thoroughly and made sure that'd i'd be okay. Everyone in the office were SO nice. I've had my three back surgeries at Newton Wellesley Hospital and I've NEVER had a bad experience there... Everyone is so nice and I'm very happy that i chose this hospital.

I was so scared when i got to the hospital Tuesday morning on November 19, 2013. All of the nurses made sure i was comfortable and ready to go. When it was time to take me in i wanted to cry i was so scared. When i woke up in the recovery room everyone helped me and talked to me. Once i was in my room i was in a little pain and they helped with that.. Later on that night they gave me zofran to get rid of my nausea and ten minutes later i puked. That was the scariest thing ever seeing just bile and old blood. But the nurse was so nice she sat with me and told me everything was going to be alright. She was such a nice woman. I had a lot of nurses and i lucked out. They were absolutely amazing!

If i hate to rate my surgeon it would be 5/5 .. if i hate to rate the hospital it would be 5/5. Very Pleased!

My first impression of Dr. Chahal was... he is so young, this guy is going to operate on me? Also I felt at first that he was talking out of his ass in ways. My first visit Dr. Chahal told me that I needed to lose 5 lbs in the next month, I was like this Dr. crazy does he not know how easy that is for me, so I went at it, and guess what when I went back a month later, i gained 7.4 lbs it was a slap in the face and miss cocky over here when she met with him, slapped it right back in her face, and said "your not ready" I was stunned, and that was when it all made sense to me. Dr. Chahal is the Jillian Micahels of weight loss surgery, and if it was not for his honesty then I might not be where I am at today, and I thank him for that. So that next month I went home and did what I had to do, even hired a personal trainer, when I went back I not only lost the 7.4 lbs but total lost 12lbs. I need for him not to sugar coat it for me. Any future patients that work with Dr. Chahal, he cares, and means what he says, but if your looking for someone to sugar coat things for you then he is not the one you want to work with, actually if your looking for anyone to sugar coat anything for you then you are not ready to have this surgery. This is truley a life change. Dr. Chahal came to visit me everyday after he performed the surgery and I can not wait to see him with my future success, he provided me the tool to be able to live the rest of my life, and for that I thank him.

My initial meeting with Dr. Chahal was on Sept 22, 2009. He looked young but I was confident that he was a great surgeon because he was at this office. He was very nice, thorough with his discussion of my options, answered all my questions. He gave me certains goals to hit each month. The six months it took between first meeting him and the surgery was a great experience. He was always upbeat, kind, and knowledgable. The surgery went without any problems. He removed my gallbladder at the same time he did the RNY. He came by twice a day to see how I was and to check my incisions. My overall experience with Dr. Chahal was great. I would highly recommend him!!
