My doctor is from the Mayo Clinic. His name is Dr. Schlinkert. He was very knowlegeable and willing to explain everything. I feel good about him and I have great confidence in his surgical skills.

The Mayo Clinic has a network of doctors involved in precare and aftercare that consist of dieticians, endocrinologists, and the actual surgeon.

I would give these doctors an A+ in all areas. All of the doctors addressed the issues of the risks of the surgery and made sure I knew both the pros and the cons. I would rate all of the doctor's bedside manner and surgical competence as an A+. They are all very helpful and and willing to answer any question.

These comments are my impressions and explanation of my personal experience and I am not stating that other people will experience the same. I hope they would but I am not making any judgement calls for other people and what they might experience.

He was very professional in his way in which he
handled my case. My impression remained the
same. I was still very pleased with the way he
handled my case. I always felt like he listened
to me and had my best interests in mind.

I felt he had my best interests in mind. He
was concerned about my pain immediately after
the surgery. I had an epidural for 4 days
after the surgery (I had an open gastric bypass).
I then left the hospital using only the liquid
pain medication.

He encouraged me to get up and walk immediately after
surgery. I felt like he really was on my side.

Both surgical competence and bedside manner
were great. No complaints here. I had an excellent
hospital stay with wonderful care at Mayo
Hospital.
