Dr. Althar is very serious. He stresses the seriousness of this surgery, and his concern for your health above all. He tells you that you may not want to hear what he has to say, but he is going to be honest regardless.
I like Dr. Althar more each time I see him. His concern for you is so evident. He answers all of your questions without making you feel that he is in a hurry.
His aftercare is very strict, but I feel that it is in my best interest. Some Doc's don't care what you do or eat after they get your money, but Dr. Althar lets you know he wants to keep up with you for life. That is very reassuring to me.
Dr. Althar's staff is wonderful. No one could be nicer than Melissa or Holly.
The words I'd use to describe Dr. Althar is calm, confident and caring. He doesn't rush through any exam and answers all questions, no matter what the question is. He seems like he really enjoys his profession.
Dr. Althar is very professional and knowledgable of the surgery. He has a very complete questionaire you must submit prior to your consult, so he can review and get to know you. My impression of him has not changed, I really like him and felt very comfortable with him as my surgeon. His office staff is wonderful and very considerate, they work really hard to get you ready for the surgery in every way. Dr. Althar is going to tell you how it is. He doesn't play any games, he is very honest and to the point. He has great follow up, he is very patient with you in the aftercare and wants to help any way he can. His aftercare program, is with the nutritionist, and the hospital has a support group to help get you through the tough times, and the physical therapist calls and checks on you. Dr. Althar and his staff covered every aspect of the surgery, I had no questions or surprises. I would give him a rating of a "10". I will take surgical competence over bedside manner any day. But both are great.
My first impression of Dr. Althar was he was caring and very informative. I felt like he was there for me and not against me. The office staff was friendly and very helpful. I didn't find anything that I didn't like against Dr. Althar. I think future patients know that he is very supportive and will help you and do whatever he can to make their surgery successful. Follow up with Dr. Althar is great. With my complications he was Johnny on the Spot. He has a very well balanced aftercare structure. He was very serious in explaing the risk of surgery. I would rate him a 9 because no one is perfect. His surgical and bedside manner was great. I would recommend Dr. Althar to everyone.
