Robert E. Cole Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

Dr. Cole is a very trusting and caring man. He explains what the procedure will be like and any consequences that may take place. The office staff are very helpful and answer any questions in a timely manner. The aftercare plan is great. It continues from day 1 through the recovery period and beyond. I would rate Dr. Cole a 10 out of 10.

he gave me a real big hug and at that moment
I felt so much better and I trust him fully!

Dr Cole knows what he is doing. He made me comfortable from day 1. My impression of him hasn't changed in 3 years. His office staff is very professional and caring, you can call with any questions and they answer you quickly. They have a very well structured after care plan that continues for years after the surgery. They want to make sure you stay healthy! We asked what risks were involved and he and his staff explained everything, the ups and the downs we knew before I decided to have the surgery. Dr Cole would have to be one of the best surgeons out there for weight loss surgery. I asked around and questioned alot of people in my area about who to go to and it always came back to Dr Cole. Dr Cole is rated one of the best in his area and he earned it, his beside manner is a bit abrupt but once you go see him a few times it doesn't bother you as much because you get a feeling of confindence that overcomes his beside manner!!

All I have to say is that Dr cole is the bomb diggity he is just so great his whole team is as a matter of fact.

Dr. Cole is very to the point and matter of fact. I like that in a doctor!rnrnI have met with him twice, his Physician Assistant once, Nutrishionist and Social Worker. I also had a Group session with billing, social worker,nutrishionist and other staff from the office. This was to make each person aware of the services and ways they can help you succeed.

My first impression of my surgeon was WOW. He was so sensitive to my feelings. He is truly an amazing person. He promised me that he would see me through this and he has. His bedside manner is the best and he has so much compassion for a person. Whether starting out or after the weight loss. He told me what to expect from day 1. All the problems that could arise from the surgery...the problems that could happen after the surgery. I did have an ulcer after the surgery and he was right there with me through that. The problem was taken care of immediately.rnOver all he was the BEST doctor I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with and i would recommend him to EVERYONE who needs this surgery.

My first Impression of Dr Cole was that he was soft spoken and quiet. He came into the room and talked to both my husband and I. He asked me husband to sit in the chair to my right so he could sit beside me to my left. I have not had someone be THAT informative in so long with my own personal information. It felt great. He was very honest. He said that this is not a fix and would only work for me as much as I was willing to make it work for me. rnrnHe was referred to me by a friend who had him as a surgeon and I am so appreciative that she sent me his way. He stated up front that he only does open RNY and that is fine with me. It isnt for everyone. He told me that his only control is how things are handled in the OR.. which is very true. He has no control of how we choose to use the tool after we leave him.rnrn

My first impression of Dr. Cole was a very good one. He was honest, caring, to the point and most of all professional. My impression of him will always be the same. His staff was equally as caring, nice and professional. There was nothing I disliked about Dr. Cole. Anyone thinking about having the gastric bypass should think strongly about having him do it. I did and I'm not sorry. Aftercare is a very important part of this surgery. Dr. Cole and all of his staff will strongly inform you of this. He is in control in the operating room and once you go home you are. They have many support groups to attend for aftercare. I attedned them before the surgery and will attend them again. He and his staff were right to the point about the risks involved with this procedure. I would give him and his staff a 100 plus percent overall. The surgical competence and bedside manner were both GREAT!!!! Those two things just seem to go hand in hand to me.

When Dr. Cole first came into the office he sat down next to me and proceeded to explain to me the process of surgery. All throughout he was very compassionate and assured me that it was not my fault, and he put his arm around me and made me feel a lot better about my choice to have the surgery. My mother had roux-en-y several years ago and he was her doctor. She loved how thorough and how caring he was. That is the reason I chose him and I believe I made a good choice.
