Robert Rodgers Bariatric Surgeon M.D., Ph.D.
I work as a nurse and I met Dr. Rodgers when I was working in the hospital. I found him to be a very caring and concerned physician while taking care of his patients. I then got a job in the clinic that he has is office in. I work for an internal medical doctor.
At my first visit with him I had so many questions he was very patient with me and answered all of them and went into more detail about others. He was pleasant and comfortable to be around. He truly cares for his patients and what he is doing. He believes that over weight patients deserves a second chance at life and he wants to be the one to help them get that.
His office staff is nice and is very helpful.
Future patients need to know that he may not be doing this kind of surgery much longer due to malpractice insurance going up. I was of course upset but he did mention that the patients he has done the surgery on he will continue to follow.
He recommends to do a lot of research and has recommended a support group on Eglin AFB to attend. You do not have to be in the military to attend the meetings.
He is in the process of getting aftercare programs going but due to the malpractice insurance issue I believe this might be on hold.
I would recommend him to anyone who is interested in having the surgery and I would also encourage them to do a lot of research on the many different kinds of surgeries out there.
Dr. Rodgers seems very friendly and professional. I was impressed with his manner and the time and care he showed. He did an excellent job of discussing pre- op thru post op concerns. His office staff is friendly and helpful.rnPost op report: He is great! I am so pleased with my surgery and recovery. Dr Rogers and staff are so caring and professional I would recommend them to anyone.rnrn5/06 My surgeon no longer does Bariatrics. he cannot afford the malpractice insurance and hassles with carriers. He is a busy successful surgeon and much to his regret no longer does this type of surgery.
Dr Rogers was wonderful. He is a meticulous surgeon and even told me he has a lot of respect for this procedure. He goes above and beyond in make sure there are no leaks. His nurse Janet is great, but the receptionist needs to GO!!
He still stops and talks with me every time he sees me at work at the hospital and asks how I am doing. I have had my first 3 months visit and my lab work came back fine.
I will see him again at 6 months then at 12 months. He was very clear in telling me about the risks of surgery. Overall, he was excellent to me. His is a dear sweet man and his surgical competance is the best.
Dr. Rogers was very straight forward and answered all my questions. He was glad that I had joined the OBH site and he complemented me on doing my homework in learning about surgery.
Janet, his assistant has been very helpful and has all the Pre-op testing mapped out and appointments setup. I like Dr. Rogers and feel comfortable with him and his surgical skills. His emphasis is on aftercare
with the surgery being the tool to accomplish the weight loss. I wish there was another way to lose and maintain weight, but unfortunately I have run out of time with my comorbidities and require the surgery. I am confident and happy with my choice in Dr. Rogers.
Dr. Rodgers is very comfortable to talk with. He is honest and open wiht you and a wonderful bedside manner. He is not just all medical, he listens with his ears and not fades you out!
His office staff is friendly enough. His Janet was very friendly and helpful.
He is very sturn about your aftercare, that this is a life change and not just a quick fix. He gives you a pamplet to read first before any decision is made. Then next time that you come in he asks if you have read the pamplet and are there any questions. He talks about the risks, problems and any other thing that can arise, how the surgery will, the anesthesia.
I would give him an overall high 10!
I have known dr. rogers for a VERY long time. He's the only one i would let touch me!
The office staff was great! If you ever any questions about him please email me [email protected]
Dr. Rogers makes very sure you KNOW what you are getting into and that it's a life time change.
Overall i would rate dr. rogers a 10+++++
Dr. Rodgers on the first consultation let me know right up front all the pros and cons of the surgery. He spent almost 2 hours with me in his office just talking. He ask what I thought were very important questions. About me and my family history of weight problems. He would not schedule me for surgery on my first. He advised me to go home think about it, research it, talk with people that had the surgery. I can't think of one thing I disliked him. He made be believe that his first concern was me not the money he would make. I found his staff to be very kind and helpful. He explained that aftercare was very important in the success of this procedure.
