Dr. Rush was great. Very upfront and informative.

He was at Madigan Army Medical Center when he preformed my Lap RNY. He was abrupt and straightfoward.
He did a great job with the surgery and I have had no trouble holding down fluids or my full liquids. I am only one week out and feeling better and better each day.

I ad Dr. Robert Rush, I don't think I could have asked for a more caring Dr. he is not the kind to laugh and joke, but takes his patints very seriously. I finally got him to crack a smile when he spent about 20min with me the day after surgery. I had to go back into the hospital for a few days about 10 days after my original surgery and he stopped by to see me twice while I was there. I would not hesitate for a second to recommend him and his staff of great interns.

My first impression of Dr Rush was that he is an extremely intelligent and competent surgeon. I was completely comfortable with him. My impression of him remained the same, and I still view him as the best surgeon for me!rnrnHis surgical team was GREAT and fully competent as well. I trusted their answers, and they were good about coming to check on me a couple times a day. I saw my primary surgeon at probably once a day, even on his day off where he strapped his son to his back and did rounds.rnrnHe wasn't the warmest and fuzziest of people, but he certainly wasn't unkind. He tells it like it is without an ounce of sugar coating.rnrnHe stresses aftercare and makes it a personal priority. He will not hesitate to have a patient come in to be seen for any concern. rnrnHe was very clear about the risks of surgery and about what he does to reduce the risks involved! He is \"anal\" about making sure blood clots and anastomosis leaks are prevented and taken care of immediately upon detection. To my knowledge, he has never lost a laparoscopic surgery patient.rnrnI would give him a 10! I don't give that rating lightly, he definitely earned it and his staff maintained that rating.rnrnSurgical competence is by far the most important... although I love a good bedside manner. I believe I only have to deal with my surgeon's bedside manner when he is in the room, but I have to live with his work forever. He is a GREAT surgeon and has a decent bedside manner, so we got along just fine.

I will be meeting him on Wednesday June 13, 2007 for the first time. I was originally seen by another surgeon. So we will see how it goes!

My first impression of Dr. Rush is that wow! He is a very educated man, that it is hard for him to be on the same level as me. My impression over time changed as he actually smiled at me and seem to care..About ...ME. He came to see me saturday night after my surgery and spoke to me briefly and that made me feel much better. I truely believe in my heart that my doctor has horrible bedside manners but he is a very skilled surgeon. He is cut dry and straight to the point. But that makes him unique. I am so pleased with the outcome of my surgery though. God touched his hands to perform this miracle of my new life. For that I am blessed and grateful to Dr. Robert Rush Jr. MD,F.A.S.C.
