Robert S. Hill Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

Dr. Hill has an amazing bedside manner but he knows how to get down to business, too. He struck me as technically competent and concerned about my health. His secretary, Carolyn is great. I called her with a question and she got back to me in 15 minutes. Some of the other staff isn't so helpful but for the most part they're nice. One thing that kinda bothers me is that he's contracted with the bariatric practice i'm using. It's not his practice. I'm confident in him because he's been assisting and doing this procedure for years but it would be nice if he were on board with bariatric surgery exclusively. The program is extremely structured and aftercare is emphasized strongly.

Dr. Hill talked about the risks of surgery as I brought them up. He also brought up things I hadn't mentioned. He was clear, did not try to use fear tactics but his risk language was strong enough to make you make sure that this is what you want to do.

I absolutely love his bedside manner. Surgical competence is paramount but it sure is nice to find someone who has both!

I wanted to wait until after my surgery to make comments about my surgeon, Dr. Robert Hill. He was highly recommended to me by a very good friend, but I wanted time to form my own opinion. All I can say is that Dr. Hill is WONDERFUL! He is a very kind, sensitive and caring doctor. His bedside manner is great. From my first meeting with him I have felt completely at ease.

In our first meeting he stressed the risks of surgery. He made sure I knew what I was getting myself into. He didn't try to scare me, he just wanted me to be well informed.

The group of doctors that he is a part of has an extensive pre op and post op education program that is mandatory for each WLS patient.

I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Hill to anyone. And if faced with more surgery I would want Dr. Hill to be my surgeon.

I first met Dr. Hill on my Pre Op day and found him to be a wonderful person. He is very gentel and thourgh about answering any questions or concers you have. Since my surgery I have seen him several times for follow up appointments and he and his staff are both WONDERFUL!!! One of the many things I like about his office is it possible to get a LATE evening appointment (I usally go at 5:15) which some doctors do not offer. I can not even say enough kind words about Dr.Hill or his staff. While I was in the hospital he checked on me in the morning and on several days again in the afternon. His surgical competence and bedside manner are great. He really makes you feel very comfterable. His staff is very courteous and helpful. If you can't tell I ABSOLUTLEY LOVE Dr. Hill and his staff!!! :0)

I met Dr. Hill the day I went for preop. He answered all my questions. He was very nice. They have a good group of doctors and staff at this office.

I haven't yet Dr. Hill. My initial consult on 3/07/03 was with Dr. Engler (as all those interested in this surgery at thier practice is). I was impressed with the thouroughness and straightforwardness of Dr. Engler. He saw absolutely no problem with getting my insurance to approve as they have had much success with BCBS of SC before. (Guess he didn't know about that little clause my company has....oh well that's another story) I will meet Dr. Hill on 4/23/03 when I go in for my physical with the practice, will update then.

I haven't met him yet. My initial consultation is 2/28! I am very excited!
I met with Dr. Gooden. I was very impressed. He was very upfront about everything.
I have had a lot of problems with my insurance... hence it is now July and still no surgery... even though Dr. Gooded agreed to do it.
I have an appointment with Dr. Engler today...... And, I have a new insurance policy!
01/08/03- I ended up using Dr. Hill, an associate of Dr. Engler. He was awesome! Dr. Engler was assisting during the procedure. I have no complaints about anything! No problems thus far and I am 9 weeks out!
Their office is staff is very friendly and helpful.
Their aftercare program is very thorough. They gave you a very detailed diet to follow.
I was advised of the risks of the procedure.
There was nothing I disliked about him!
They have also sent me information about a support group that meets here locally.
Both his bedside manner and surgical competence are great!
