Love him. He underwent the same procedure, RNY, two years ago so he knows first hand the after effects of the surgery. Memorial Hospial in Chattanooga has one of the best Weight Management Centers in the area.Very open about the risks invovled in the surgery and rapeatedly discussed the diet/lifestyle change neccesary to my success. Surgical competence is high on my list of priorities.

I've only met Dr. Sass once and I was impressed by him. He's very knowledgeable and also has a cute sense of humor.rnrnI met his office manager, Valencia, at the seminar. She was very kind and helpful in answering my questions.rnrnDr. Sass went over all of the risks from the surgery and explained them thoroughly. The aftercare program wasn't discussed in detail during the initial seminar.

5/13/08 My initial visit went well. Dr. Sass went over the surgical procedure and addressed any questions that I had. He also took the time to address the insurance criteria. I am pleased with his mannerism and look forward to having a long-lasting relationship with him and the staff. rnWhat is most impressive about Dr. Sass is the fact that he has had gastric bypass surgery. I haven't gotten the honor of meeting Dr. Sass in person yet. I say honor, because this man is one of the few Doctors out there that still has a human side to him. I am stuck paying out of pocket for my RNY surgery. I have no credit, so I can't get a loan. We make too much money (!) for Medicaid. So I have to figure out how to pay for this on a Firefighter's salary. rnrnI contacted Dr. Sass one day in a desperate attempt to reach out to Bariatric Surgeons. I sent a mass e-mail to 23 surgeons in 5 states. Begging them to help me. Dr. Sass was the ONLY person to respond. And he offered to take a LARGE amount off of his usual fee, offering to do the surgery for nearly nothing! rnrnI am still working on the rest of the money needed. You know, for the hospital, the meds... you name it. But I would have given up on this if it wasn't for this one man!rnrnLove you Dr. Sass!

WOW! Dr. Sass is amazing!! I actually emailed Dr. Sass for help with surgery and he personally emailed me back and told me to call and tell the office that he told me to setup an appointment. HIs office staff is the best! They have worked so hard for me to get things rolling and moving very quickly. What really blew me away was when Dr. Sas came in for my consult, after speaking to me about the surgery, he pulled out HIS before and after pics!!!! Can you believe that??? My surgeon had WLS in 2005!!!! It helps me a lot to know that he not only understands WLS from a medical standpoint, but also from the physical side as well. I would recommend anyone to this dr and his office. I love them!!

He really worked with us on the insurance and he spends lots of time with you. He has personally had a gastric bypass so he is really knowledgeable. We really like him. He is also funny and really approachable and friendly. I have heard he is excellent at this procedure as well. We'll find out.
