Dr. Robert Woodruff is very efficient, succinct, thorough. Immediately following my procedure I didn't really have any major or nagging pain, nor did I have any gas pressure or pain in my shoulder or arm as many other patients on OH, and on other forums and social networks, have complained about for all my years of research since 1996.

So for that, I'm very pleased! :)

If anything I felt very exhausted and all I wanted to do was sleep... but I couldn't during my overnight stay at St. Joe's in Warren, OH. My monitors for my I.V. would beep incessantly every 20-30 minutes throughout the entire bloody evening well into the the next damned afternoon!!! I GOT NO SLEEP! ZERO! I was miserable, kept complaining. Why they didn't just just get me a monitor/ I.V. contraption that worked, I'll never know. Trifling!

Then at one point in the evening, a flurry of nurses charged into my room en masse with a CRASH CART! I've watched enough med shows since childhood to know that those two words are not a good sign. I asked what was going on? One of the head nurses on shift explained that whenever all lights go RED next to my name at their desk, it meant I was FLATLINING! Huh?!? "Well clearly I'm not." Which they plainly saw. It turns out the electrodes had been placed on & under my chest INCORRECTLY. Thus the major snafu.

All I wanted to do was be discharged tout suite & call my two best friends (that brought me to the hospital and stayed by my side until I finally came out of my anesthesia after 2 stressful hours) to pick me up & take me home to my apt. So in short everything pre-op & during surgery with my surgeon went smoothly. Everything after him was MEH! Smhl. I wrote all of this down in my journal but I certainly won't forget it.

Do I regret having my Lap RNY (Gastric Bypass)? Absolutely not! I was in very skilled & capable hands with Dr. Woodruff and his OR team. I'd do it again & recommend him to anyone. Be aware that he's not the "warm, fuzzy" , hold your hand through it all type of doc. But he does a damn good job. No pain in my case, no leaks, no drains. That's more important. That's what matters. Just wish my overnight stay was at another facility.

I couldn't have picked a better or more qualified surgeon to do my procedure! Dr. Woodruff is straight forward about explaining risks and complications and does not sugar coat things. He also makes sure his patients are fully educated about the surgery they are choosing. The office staff is very friendly and helpful. Overall I would rate Dr Woodruff and his staff a 10/10. I have complete trust and confidence in him and his surgical team!

The first experience with my surgeon was with his office. His whole bariatric team, including the nurse, dietition, couselor and director was all very nice and helpful. When I met my surgeon, he was very honest and knowledgeable. This was how he has been the whole time. There was very little I disliked about him. I believe the only thing I was wierd about was that he didn't perscribe me liquid pain medicine, but pills that kept getting stuck after breaking them. They make sure they go over everything for before and after, plus give you a big binder to follow and keep records. They make you jump through hoops, and pay alot of things out of pocket, but this is to make sure this is something you are ready for. They also offer support group meetings multiple times a month, offer water aerobics a a big discount and follow up frequently. I would definately recommend him all around. I would rate him a 9.5.

He's a very nice man. He seems understanding and caring. So far my impression has been the same. The staff there is wonderful and promptly returns phone calls and isn't bother by questions. Aftercare is a big part of them. They hold montly support groups at different time so it's easy for you to attend. I haven't had surgery yet but I can't wait for it. The only thing is that when I went to make my first appointment I called in July and didn't get in until October then you do have alot of test to complete and they would like if you would lose between 10-20 pounds. They also want you to buy all of your vitiams and protien beforehand also which can be expensive. Overall I love the place and the people and am looking forward to them helping before, during, and after surgery.

Nice guy. Everyone is right when they say that he looks YOUNG! But he is very knowledgable and helpful. His staff rocks. rnrnWhat I really like about working with him and the clinic is the thoroughness. rnrnYesterday I had the endoscopy done to give him a looksee and I was very stressed. He didn't say much to me (which was disappointing) but was soothing in his approach and in the confidence he expressed in the folks in the room. rnrnI like him.

I would recommend Dr. Woodruff to anyone in the area. He is by far the best surgeon in regards to bedside manner as well as his staff and after care requirements. Dr. Woodruff was very honest with me about all aspects of the before and after surgery process.

My first impression was he looks very young. The staff seems very knowledgeable and friendly. There is an aftercare program and they give you info on it at your first appt. Dr. Woodruff spoke to us as a group first going over the risks anthen also individually. I'd rate him a 10. I kow several people who he has operated on and none has any complaints.

DR. WOODRUFF IS VERY THOROUGH HES EXPLAINS EVERYTHING IN DETAIL AND SEEMS TO BE VERY COMPASSIONATE MAN.
HIS OFFICE STAFF IS WONDERFUL AND VERY WILLING TO HELP IN ANY WAY. SOME OF THEM HAVE HAD THE SURGERY THEMSELVES AND THAT WAS NICE TO SEE AND THEY SHOWED PICS OF THEMSELVES MAKES YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE.
THERE WAS NOTHING I DIDNT LIKE ABOUT THE DR. CENTER OR THE STAFF.
THE DR. AND STAFF EMPHASIZE ON AFTERCARE TO THE FULLEST, AND DOES HAVE A WONDERFUL PROGRAM.
DR. WOODRUFF EXPLAINED THE RISKS OF THE SURGERY HIMSELF.
AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED I FEEL 100% SAFE GOING THRU THIS SURGERY AND AM LOOKING FORWARD TO IT.
