Roxanne Davenport Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

Dr Davenport is a very knowledgeable yet personable doctor, she answered all of my questions and made me feel very comfortable. She is very sure of herself and that helps you feel good in knowing she is capable. She is a wonderful surgeon. I would recommend her and feel she is the best of the best!

Dr. Davenport is a wonderful person and surgeon. She really takes an interest in you as a person and is always there to assist with any concerns or questions. Everyone in her office is friendly and very knowledgable, they can even remember you by name and remember personal information about you when you return for your visits. I feel Dr. Davenport is an excellent surgeon. She makes certain you and your family know the risks as well as the advantages before you agree to surgery. She also goes over every aspect of the surgery with you so that there are no surprises. She came to visit me every day in the hospital to make certain I was well taken care of and had everything I needed to be comfortable. During the visits in the hospital and my follow up office visits Dr. Davenport listened to concerns and advised me of any action that I needed to take. I could not have been luckier!!!

Dr. Davenport is just all around great! When I first met her I couldn't believe how young she was but she is confident, unbelievably intelligent and wise, and exudes professionalism in everything she does. She did a great job introducing tons of medcial information in a way that was easy to understand and follow and thoroughly answered any and all questions I had. I am really thankful I found Dr. Davenport!! I would recommend her to anyone!

Dr. Davenport is great. she really cares about her patients. She explains the surgery in detail. I would reccomend her highly.

I was simply impressed with Dr. Davenport and her staff, well most of them. The staff was so nice and caring, there was this one lady which scheduled my Physch. evaluation that was a little rude. She could have been having a bad day as we all do though. She should really work on PR with the patients and try to be a little nicer when speaking directly to them. Dr. Davenport was simply wonderful. She made me feel so comfortable and I almost felt as if I had known her for a very long time.
She explained every detail and was encouraging. To simply state my opinion of Dr. Davenport and her staff: Top of the line, Excellent, and Outstanding.
I would recommend Dr. Davenport to anyone.

I really loved Dr. Davenport. She makes you feel so comfortable about the entire process. She is also really upfront about everything. My surgery is scheduled for Jan 30th and it seems like it took forever to get approved. I really had to keep calling her office to get things done. I think the staff is just so busy and when you are getting ready for this surgery you have very little patience. I will update after my surgery. Angie

I had my surgery on Jan 30th. I have to say that Dr. Davenport is the BEST. I had no problems with the surgery, everything went really smooth. Dr. Davenport was so great through everything. I would rate her and her staff at a 10!!!!

Dr. Davenport is one of the most sincerely and caring Dr.'s that I have ever had. She is extremely knowledgable. Has a great bedside manner. She is always available for any and all questions concerning WLS. Dr. Davenport's staff is friendly and caring. I would definitely suggest to anyone that wanted to have WLS to go to Dr. Davenport. I would rate Dr. Davenport a 500. She is great. I honestly cannont think of anything negative to say about her. The only thing that I did not care for was the it did take me a year on a waitlist to get in to see her.

Dr. Davenport is a wonderful surgeon. She is open, honest and does not talk down to you. She welcomes all your questions and makes you feel at ease. She is professional and skilled at what she does. I have had surgery done by her two times and I would go back to her if I ever need surgery again. There is nothing I can think of that I do not like about her.

The office staff is pleasant and helpful. They try to make you feel comfortable and welcome.

Dr. Davenport only does the "Open" gastric bypass. This is her preference as she feels it allows her to see the other organs better while operating and lessens the chance for any slip ups.

Dr. Davenport cautions you that aftercare is very important and the reasons why. She has a set schedule of when you should come in for follow-up visits and will send you a letter to remind you to make an appointment with her.

She tells you in detail what exactly the surgery entails and have a picture that shows what she does during the surgery. She is very frank about the risks and goes over them all at length.

If I had to rate Dr. Davenport on a scale of one to ten I would give her a 15! I feel she has a great balance of bedside manner and surgical competence both of which are very important.


UPDATE: As of 2005, Dr. Davenport no longer performs general surgery she now specializes in breast surgery only.

I can't say enough about Roxanne. She is an awesome surgeon and i'm glad I went with her. I didn't catch her nurses' name but she was great too. Joyce is a little abrupt, she's the front secretary, but she softens up once you become a patient.

The only problem I had was that be prepared for her to leave you in the middle of your appointment. she's obviously a very busy doctor ;) She was beeped a few times, but she finally left the room with her beeper and left it on the desk outside the room.

She was prepared to tell me everything about the surgery, the risks, aftercare etc. However, i've been researching WLS for 2 years now and I pretty much knew everything.

I would rate Roxanne very high as she seems to genuinely care about her patients and she knows a lot about the surgery.

Dr.Davenport is an exceptional surgeon. She has a wonderful personality and I have no doubt in her skill for this procedure. She is highly experienced and performed over hundreds of surgeries with NO leaks!!! amazing! She is also a member of the American Society for Bariatric Surgery.
