I have had two surgeons, Dr. Paul Kispert at Dartmouth Hitchcock initially operated on me. I had wanted the more extreme procedure with a shorter than 100cm common channel. He never indicated that he would not do that, but he did not. Although I did not drop all my wt. I did drop a hundred lbs. I have not had the complications others have had and did not have dumping syndrome.

My second surgeon, Dr. Scott Gallagher is a sweetheart too. He listens, teaches, and cares. Both were gentle men. Both I would recommend with regards to surgical competence, bedside manner and genuine caring as well as educating the patient about the risks, benefits, surgical complications and eating modifications. Both stressed it is a tool not a cure. Both are excellent.

Dr. Gallagher is assistant to Dr. Murr in Tampa. They have a fantastic reputation throughout the southeast, which is why I went to them. The Dr. was very personable, knowledgeable, and made me feel very comfortable. (I was a nervous wreck my first appt). Susan, their office manager is truely a gift. Not only has she had the surgery herself, so she knows what we go through, she will move mountains for you and fight till the death if necessary as long as you are committed to a healthier life. I've not had but one visit with the Dr. so far, so I really can't go into depth. I'll just say that I am glad he will be doing my surgery. Unfortunately for me, I did have to wait quite a long time in the office, but I suspect it's because of their reputation. They have MANY patients. Please understand that these are my own personal observations and beliefs; therefore I cannot be held accountable for anyone elses experience.

EVERYONE IN HIS OFFICE IS VERY NICE.rnHE CAME RATE OUT AND SAID EVERYTHING THAT COULD GO WRONG AND ALL THE THINGS THAT COULD GO RIGHT! My first impression of Dr. Gallagher was that he is was knowledgeable, paitent, and well spoken. He was answewring questions at their new patient seminar, and took time to thoroughly answer all the questions thrown at him. I had actually had my first consult with his partner, Dr. Murr and they were both very nice.rnDr. Gallagher's staff is helpful and kind also. They all went through the risks of the surgery, telling me everything to expect at each stage. They made sure that I met everyone that would be seeing me in the hospital. The whole program was very detailed. After care to vitamins. rnThe only thing that kind of threw me off is he looks so young. But other than that he seems to me to be very compentent, and well mannered. rnI will post more about this post op....if anyone has any questions please contact me.rnrnIt's way after surgery now, and i am still singing Dr. Gallagher's praises!!! He is really a great guy. He takes time every time i see him, not just with me but to make sure my husband is understanding every step of this journey. I woule have him to my surgery a million times over if i had to.

I had my consult with Dr. Gallagher back in February 06. He was very pleasant and went over the entire procedure. He drew a picture of what he would be doing and then showed me where the incisions would be on my abdomen. Dr. Gallagher also went over all the risks of surgery very thoroughly. He answered all my questions and wasn't rushing the appointment along. I also met Susan and Stacy, Stacy is Dr. Gallaghers bariatric coordinator. I have spoken to both during the insurance process, and both were very good about getting answers and calling me back in a timely fashion. So far I have been very impressed with their program, I did get a denial on the first submission to the insurance company, but on the first appeal it was overturned. For the most part it has been a positive experience so far.

Up front with everything that will take place. Answered my questions. I was and still am very pleased with Dr Gallagher and the staff.
Dr Gallagher informed me that any surgery is a rick, no matter how big or small. He drew a picture of how they will do the surgery. Surgery takes about 3 hour.

Dr. Gallagher was great! My first impression was that he was very friendly and took his time with me. The office staff was just as nice.
The only thing I don't care for is that it has been almost 3 months and I haven't seen
Dr. Gallagher but I have seen his interns. and I'll see Dr. Murr this month but still not Dr. G.

Over all I would rate him a 9. He did tell me of the risk and his bed side manner was very pleasing. I can't really say anything bad about him or anyone at his office.
