Seferino Farias Bariatric Surgeon M.D.,F.A.C.S.

My first impression of Doctor Farias was that he was young, the staff at the office were wonderful. I loved the fact that on of the assistants has has WLS herself and was able to comment from personal experience. If I has to name something that I liked least about the office I would say... he is a busy man. I would highly recommend Doctor Farias to anyone. I felt that I was in capable hands. he made me feel at ease not only in the hospital but through out the entire process.

My first impression of Dr. Farias, was he is shy. He wasn't very outgoing, just shy. My impression of him is still that he is shy, but he has a Great personality. When he came to see me the day after surgery in my hospital room, he was very pleasant and very sweet. He has a Wonderful bedside manner. Couldn't get any better than that. I know his sister, she was in one of my classes at school. I found this out after I had met him for the first time. He just gets so excited when I see him knowing that I know his sister, it is funny.

I love his staff and his office. It is a very pleasant atmosphere and the nurse is really super nice. She apologized constantly when she was taking the JP Drain out because she knew it was hurting me.

There is nothing that I don't like about him. He is just so funny and sweet.

He puts a lot of emphasis on aftercare and he has a love for his patients. You can tell that he really cares for his patients.

Everyone of his patients has to go through a program, an education program to educate you on everthing that is going to be done and what you can and can't have after surgery, the baby steps to better health and life.

He let us know all of the risks, which I fully understood before surgery.

On a scale of 1-10, I rate Dr. Farias 100...LOL...he is just that great!!!!

Surgical competence and bedside manner are both a must. And he is Excellent with both.

You are an AWESOME Doc, Dr. Farias.

DR. FARAIS IS A HUNK. VERY NICE TO BE AROUND .VERY INFORMATIVE.I GET MORE AND MORE COMFORTABLE EVERY TIME I VISIT THE OFFICE .THE STAFF THERE IS FRIENDLY AND PATIENT. THE DOCTOR INSISTS ON AFTER CARE , THIS IS A MUST . THERE IS ALSO A 24 HOUR PAGER NUMBER IF YOU SHOULD NEED ANY ASSISTANCE AFTER OFFICE HOURS. THERE IS A SEPARATE CENTER THAT IS USED FOR ALOT OF THE BEFORE AND AFTER CARE. BOTH FACILITIES HAVE A WONDERFUL ,WELL EDUCATED STAFF, AND SUPPORT SYSTEM.I DID FEEL THAT I COULD HAVE STOOD MORE ASSISTANCE IN THE HOSPITAL. THE STAFF THERE WAS GOOD BUT I FEEL THAT SOME , NOT ALL,NEEDED TO BE MORE SENSITIVE TO MY NEEDS.

At first I wasn't sure about Dr. Farias, but as it turned out I am really glad he is the dr. that I got.
I ended up with complications with my incision and had to go back in to surgery for Dr. Farias to open it, drain it etc.
Because of the complications with the incision I saw Dr. Farias weekly for 3 months. He is very kind, very caring ...has a great bedside manner.
I would recommend Dr. Farias to anyone, especially us scardy cats!

My first impression was not good, he cancelled 2 appointments before I finally got to see him. AND my surgery was scheduled for Nov. 4th, He cancelled that for personal reasons, AFTER I had already arrived to the hospital that morning. After that I was sooo angry I said "forget it, it's not ment to be." But My bariatric advisor convinced me to continue my journey, so I did. I had my surgery on Nov. 5th. Since the surgery I have been very pleased with Dr. Farias. And very satisfied with his performance as my surgeon. His staff and all involved in this process have been very understanding and kind. Dr. Farias has a great bedside manner and knows the importance of aftercare. I give him a very high rating as a surgeon and kind soul.

I went through a program at Broadway Methodist Hospital in Merrillville Indiana. The Program Coordinator is Donna Kettle. This is where I met Dr. Farias.
I would like to tell you about my doctor. He is Dr.Seferino Farias. Dr. Farias was at the first meeting my husband and I attended. From the first, we liked him because of his easy manner and knowledge of the surgery and told us what to expect. I had my surgery on Aug 06, 2004. and Dr. Farias and his staff was with me through all of my hospital stay. Dr. Farias has a program you go through before the surgery. It was 5 months for me to go through all the program. I went to the hospital feeling very comfortible about my surgery because of the information Dr. Farias and his staff at Broadway Methodist Hospital taught me. He has been reachable if I had any questions and I don't mean he would get back to me the next day, I mean in about 15 minutes from my call to him. His surgical competence, bedside manner, office manner and office staff are great. I would tell anyone who is thinking about this surgery or anyother surgery, Please contact Dr. Farias

Well I met Dr. Farias, aside of him being a cutie pie, he absolutely seems competent regarding WLS, my impression of him was a good one, he was very informative as far as possible complications, benefits, and what the surgery would entail, I would recommend him, on his bedside manner alone.
