I'm writing this review as I'm nearing my 1 year post op from having a Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy with Dr. Partridge and the Center for Weight Loss Team at NWH.

What can I say....? She saved my life.

When I decided weight loss surgery was the right decision for me, I did a lot of research. With the help of my primary care doctor, I found Dr. Partridge and feel so blessed to have met her and to have her as my surgeon.

I had a vertical sleeve gastrectomy on 04/12/12 and feel amazing.

Prior to my actual surgery date, I had several appointments with Dr. Partridge and the staff. ALL of my experience has been nothing but 100% positive. These people care, and by the way... they know what they are doing.

I found Dr. Partridge to be so thorough in her explanations. I asked tons of questions (even down to my bougie size) and she spent time with me, explained everything, so that when surgery day was here I was completely prepared.

My surgery went great. In fact, I was amazed at how fantastic I felt. AND - I was able to have a "single incision" gastric sleeve which, in my opinion, speaks high of her skills as a surgeon.

The follow up post op has exceeded my expectations. Dr. Partridge makes rounds twice daily during your hospital stay and is available after hours should you need her.

I had some additional surgery months later and I was so fortunate that Dr. Partridge was able to be my surgeon again. (I had my gallbladder out and a hernia repair. NOTE: I do not consider this a complication from surgery, rather, something that came up a result of rapid weight loss). Again, my experience both pre and post op was fantastic.

Next week I am going to see Dr. Partridge for my 1 year follow up appointment and I've never been so excited to go to the Dr's office before!

Dr Partridge has been truly remarkable pre and post op. She knows her stuff and I am lucky to have her as my surgeon. This is a life long relationship and I know she and the rest of the staff at the Center for Weight Loss will be there for me.

I feel like I've been given a second chance and I'm so grateful to them.

My experience has been life changing.......for the better.

Dr. Partridge and staff are wonderful-that is as long as you don't have any post-surgical complications.

She is a very skilled surgeon but her follow through with patients is not was it was years ago when Dr. Thayer was around.

I had my RNY 6+ years ago and developed an issue 3 years out. Yes, Dr. Partridge did call me back when I was in a state of emergency, but the call was more like "what am I supposed to do?"
I figured I just caught her at a bad time (she was at home with her kids in the background), so I understood.

Now I have a close friend who had surgery 2 years ago and has had nothing but problems. My friend asked for a call back from the Dieticians twice within the first year and they never called back. Assistance was needed with what foods to eat with severe nausea. My friend is now in a very bad situation and really needs help from a bariatric surgeon as they still cannot keep anything down and they're afraid to call the office due to lack of response.

My beef is that Dr. P's office is all about how they will be there for you when you have problems and they want you to call them before going to the ER and how people don't contact them until there is a bigger problem and they want you to contact them before or if you go to the ER, blah, blah, blah..
Well, a few years ago they would respond but it has been my experience that they have turned into a gastric bypass mill.

I am extremely disappointed in their post op care, in fact I called the office twice about my friend's state of health a week after surgery and had to demand that they be seen, and sure enough they were admitted and ended up in kidney failure. The nurses give lameass answers like they are doctors-they just blow you off with “Try this; try that” like they are reading off a checklist.

I happened to need some medical records from Newton Wellesley unrelated to my gastric bypass surgery but figured I'd just get my entire file. Interesting that my phone rang one night and it was Dr. P calling me out of the blue to "Make sure everything was alright". I guess she was afraid something legal was brewing which of course wasn't, but my point in mentioning this is I wish my friend could get the same response from ANY doctor in this practice that would help with post-operative issues related to RNY.

My friend has been so sick and without decent medical help that tonight they told me on the phone they give up and wish they would just die. They can't eat, they can't poop and they look like they just got out of a concentration camp. Certainly other post op patients have had similar problems but this office will just send patients (both myself and my friend) off to a gastro in the building and wash their hands of it.

While I would rate my experience as good to excellent, my friend would definitely rate theirs as poor. That said my surgery was done in the Dr. Thayer days when the office staff didn't treat patients with post op problems like it's no big deal.

Think long and hard and ask MANY questions about how long term follow up care is delivered well before surgery and talk to other patients at the group meetings to make sure you are confident a safety net is in place in the event you need it.

I love Dr. Partridge. She is completely honest and tells you like it is.

Dr Partridge is a truely wonderful and caring doctor. Her first order of business was to get me in tip top shape for surgery. She orchestrated the events that would lead to getting my diabetes under control and got me on the road to losing weight. She is part of a wonderful program that does not rush surgery and has a great after care program. She is thorough and knowledgable in her field and absolutely will not perform surgery if she feels you are not ready mentally or physically. She has a great bedside manner, but is stern enought to let you know what has to be done in order to make surgery happen. The only down side I can mention might be that I wish she had come to my room a bit more to check on me after surgery.

Dr. Partridge was straight forward and encouraging. She has always been available when needed and works hard with the staff she has to keep post surgery patients on track and committed to the plan.

I have moved to Dr. Partridge because she does Lap RnY's and I've heard alot of good things about her, both outside of this site and in this site.

I first met Dr. Partridge at a New patient meeting at Newton-Wellesley Hospital and found her to be very professional and interesting to listen to. She answered everyone’s questions and explained everything so that it was easy to understand. Making an appointment with her office was easy and the staff is wonderful to deal with. Meeting her in her office she is very soft spoken and very easy to talk to. She makes sure that all your questions are answered thouroughly. Her staff makes sure that you are comfortable also. I had lost 15 lbs before surgery and every one of them made a big deal of it and made sure to congratulate me and tell me how proud they were. They really are a careing staff. I would recommend her practice to anybody who asked about it.rn

I love Dr. Partridge- in fact I love ALL the surgeons in the office, and they definitely operate as a cohesive team. I felt very safe in Dr. Partridge's very capable hands, and I would choose her again in a heartbeat. She is no-nonsense in her approach, but that does not take away from her bedside manner. She's GREAT.
