Stephen Odom Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr Odom was recommened by my PCP but I had known him for awhile since he was my husband's surgeon. I did not think he could relate to my being obese since he's so slim and I don't believe he ever had this problem. But he was sincere and very attentive to my questions and he was also excited along with me in wanting to improve my health since everything is out of control, ie. diabetes, high blood pressure. His office staff, and especially Teresa is wonderful.. always pleasant when I feel I am calling too often or pestering her about scheduled dates. Dr Odom does emphasis aftercare and support groups. I do get to start one within a couple of weeks. He was quite informative about the surgery and the risks involved but very encouraging also. He will be operating on me along with another surgeon. My date tentatively is March 1st. I feel that surgical competence is better than a dr's bedside manner. He does not have to make me smile. He's not there to entertain me, just make me feel better and help me improve my health.

I have seen Dr. Odom's work for years and have always admired his skills.Thus why I choose him to do my surgery. His competencey and skill's amaze me .He is a very caring surgeon which to me is a BIG plus :)I am one to ask questions in regards to my healthcare...I have learned this for being in the medical field for over 20 years. Dr. Odom has always answered all of my questions and has a manor about him that always makes me feel at ease.
His staff seems good, his scheduler is a wonderful person her name is Teresa.
I have met Dr. Griffith too... what a nice guy and too a skilled surgeon. On a scale of 1 to 10 ... I would give him a 11 ! He goes above and beyond .
