Stephen Scott Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.
knows his work well. He seams to be a good man .I haven,t found a reason to expect less. I have got along well with all his staff. He was always positive and showed that he cared about me on a personal level. After my surgery he told me that he had done his own son's and about his success. If he had told me before my surgery it would probably totally sealed my competence with his ability.
He and his staff have have a continued after care and support program that he said was a must . I did not miss a return appointment. I give him the highest possible rating. He is totally competent and has a great bed side manner. totally efficient!
My first impression of Dr. Scott was great because I new someone who used him before and liked him very much.My impression has not changed about him.His staff is so freindly they are great. They can't do enough for you. When I was in the hospital I didn't get to see him.I would of like to seen him and thank him.He is a very freindly man and really tells it like it is.He is honest with you.He really talks about aftercare alot.Yes he has a structured aftercare program. He told me all about the risk of having the surgery and gave me articles on the risk to read over before I decided to have it.I give him a big fat 10.He has wonderful bedside manner and surgical competence. He is a well gifted man on the surgery. He helped develop some of the instruments with his partner they use during the surgery. He teaches other Dr.about the surgery.rnGodly woman
My first visit was very fast and I left wandering what the heck just happened?Iknow several of his patients and he came highly reccommended so I just went with the flow .The next time I met with a Fellow and I felt okay. The morning of surgery both the Felow and Dr.Scott came to see me in pre-op.I had to go in the Sunday after discharge there were issues with the ED but he was available on the phone at 1am in the morning that made me calm down a lot.The practice in general seems to be having growng pains with the office staff but the nutritionist, nurses and the psych. are great and the support group are led by one of the three of them. They are very realistic about the risks of the procedure and they do offer aftercare.rnI think if you need a hand holding Doc he may not be for you however if you want a surgeon with alot of experience he and his partner are probably the best you can find in this part of the country.
With MBS I first met with there bariatric/internal medicinest Dr.Suttlmoeler. He is FATASTIC, truely calmed my nerves as much as possible and was very complete with everything we discussed. We have decided Dr.Scot would be the best surgeon for me and my situation. I will meet him at my preop appt on the 22nd. I am looking forward to it. rnSo the office staff is truely amazing, Leslie is right on the ball, Amy K truely knows her stuff and is sweet, careing and takes time to talk if you need it. Other Amy and Carrie are fantastic. They got write on the ball with getting me in to a surgery date for mid September (YAHOO!!). Fingers crossed my insurance is a proficient.rnThey are big on before and after care in every asspect with them. Even though it is alot of learning and knowing of change they are right there to help were ever you need it.rnI will update after the preop.rnSo I am 2 weeks out from surgery tommarrow and just wantedd to update aboutDr. and Hospital. Surgery went well, it tok about an hour lnger then dr.Scot normaly takes due to some bleeding issues. I knew I was a bleeder though. I guess the part that I am not happy with is that my husband was never contcting (though he waited in the weighting room as told). 4 hours after the surgery I was being wealed into my room still asking if someone could go locate him. He was found quite panicked in the waiting room. I have still yet to meet Dr.Scot in person. He is very nvolved in surgery and hospital issues when I have appointment. Honeslty I do not mind much, Dr. Suttlmoeler and Natalie are fantastic and make me very comfortable. I had a little problem after and was back in the ER Sunday after going home Wednesday. My drain had migrated down to agitate my apendix and bladder. Not alot of fun but Dr.Davis in the ER (bariatric specialist on call) figured out the problem and outthe drwin came. No pain with in 10 minutes. So basically all went great. I am home and just letting myself recover :)..
