Dr. Hamn did a great job! My liver didn't shrink after the fast like it should have. I have a short abdomen, and he was still able to complete the surgery laparoscopic! No huge vertical scar! He is very skilled! I'm 20 days out and in no pain at all.
For future patients, you are in good hands.
He and his office are top notch. They are very helpful, answered every question with precision and care. I rate him and his office a 10! Thank you Dr. Hamn.
I had my surgery on 04/22/10 and I've already lost 10% of my body weight.

I was referred to Dr. Hamn by my family physician (Dr. Alma Garza) in December 08. I had been contemplating weight loss surgery for approximately a year. rnrnI went to one of Dr. Hamn's seminars, met with him afterwards and an additional time for some more specific questions I had about the procedure I had selected. Dr. Hamn is very attentive and answers all questions direct and with all the pro's and con's. rnrnBecause he is someone I felt comfortable with, I scheduled surgery January 15th at Baylor Frisco. He was very reassuring the day of surgery and made me feel at ease. I was in hospital 2.5 days and he sent Tammy his physician assistant to check on me day 2 and came personally on day 3 to discharge me from the hospital.rnrnFor those of you taking the insurance route Tonya at his office is amazing to work with.rnrnThumbs up to Dr. Hamn and his entire staff for the caring and professional atmosphere!

This doctor is a very nice down to earth honest man. He takes his time with patients and is very truthful not matter what. His office is awesome and so is his staff. He puts no pressure on you and does not rush by you! In the metroplex this surgeon has done the most surgeries for the most amount of years! He is like talking to a member of your own family! I trust this doctor 100 percent!

Dr. Hamn is wonderful. He explained this whole process of the surgery so simply so I (who was a nervous wreck at the time) could understand everything that would happen. My surgery is on December 18th and I honestly have no reservations because I have all my faith in God, and that through Him Dr. Hamn will do a wonderful job with my VSG.

Love him! Very professional and good at what he does. His staff is great, too. Very upbeat and helpful. He has a very structured aftercare program. I felt very informed about the risks of surgery and I would rate him as a 10!

I just wanted to give everyone an update on my surgery. I had my surgery on December 18, 2008 and was not nervous at all. Dr. Hamm was very reassuring and that made me all the more confident that the surgery was going to be a success without no complications. His PA Amy was very friendly and professional in explaining the procedure before and after when she came to see me. Tammy, Tonya, and even the whole office staff have done nothing but be professional and friendly every step of the way. I thank Dr. Hamm for giving me my life back and I would recommend Dr. Hamm to anyone I know that is thinking about getting this surgery.

I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr. Hamn. He is a fantastic surgeon and has over 20 years of experience. I found out he was the first surgeon in Plano Texas that started doing weight loss surgery. When choosing a Dr. for weight loss surgery I wanted one with many many years of experience. My insurance company would not pay for the operation ( Lap-Band ) so I paid cash and had my surgery at Baylor Frisco. It is a very plush hospital and I got to stay overnight. Dr. Hamn keeps his patients one night in the hospital for their comfort. Other biariatric Dr's do their surgery's at day surgery places and kick you out the same day!!! I am so excited about my weight loss so far. Dr. Hamn's office is wonderful and very caring. Dr. Hamn has a wonderful bedside manner and I felt totally safe in his hands. I give Dr. Hamn and his staff a rating of 10 out of 10.

Dr. Hamn is great! His office staff is very helpful and always helpful when I had questions. I was disappointed at first when I wasn't losing weight as fast as I 'thought' I should be but Dr.Hamn kept me on track and over time the weight loss has been steady and I am thrilled with where I am now!rn rnI think surgical competance is important, but lap band is a tool and if you are going to be sucessful you have to have a good surgeon and office staff that is going to support you and help keep you on track after your surgery.

I just wanted to say that I had gastroplasty surgery many many years ago...1998 with Dr Stephen V Hamn in Plano, Texas and he saved my life. He is an amazing surgeon and I highly recommend him. His honesty before the surgery advising that the success is only what I put into it was extremely helpful & on point. If you are thinking of having WLS I highly recommend Dr. Hamn...I haven't seen him since my surgery which was almost 25yrs ago, but I felt compelled to give him a 5-star review because over 20+ years later and I am doing extremely well and although eating right and working out daily is a life long commitment that surgery cannot fix, it has been an up & down cycle to some degree, but I've never come close to my heaviest weight which was approximately 350lbs at one point. The gastroplasty surgery & Dr. Hamn's advise that it was a "tool" not a "fix all" is what has keep me on track for almost 25yrs.
