Orginally, I had been set up with one of the other Surgeons at Cori to perform my surgery. After having my blood drawn, and the results came back inconclusive for the h-pylori test, I was scheduled to have an EDG, and was very nervous about having the long scope inserted down my throat. Dr. Hendrick was the Surgeon performing the procedure that day, and all went well. The following week, I attended a seminar on WLS through CORI, and Dr. Hendrick was conducting the seminar. Dr. Hendrick was very knowledgeable, and honest about the pros and cons of the surgery so I decided then that he would be the Surgeon to perform my surgery! During my consulation with Dr. Hendrick, he went over my lab results sent over by my PCP and noticed the shape of my red blood cells and was concerned that my uterine fibroids were not the cause of my anemia, and he asked me had I ever been told that I had the sickle cell trait? So before I could be scheduled for surgery, I had to have a cat scan of my abdominal and pelvic area, and after the results came back okay for those, I still could not get a surgery date until Dr. Hendrick knew exactly what was causing my anemia. After having another blood test done, the results came back that I have a blood condition called Thalessemia along with iron deficiency. I discovered I was born with this condition and will always be anemic. It amazes me how Dr. Hendrick noticed the shape of my rbc's and my PCP who's been treating my anemia never noticed at all (hmmmmm). Finally, Dr. Hendrick called me to let me know that my surgery date would be October 18, 2004. I feel Dr. Hendrick is competent and detailed. He is very pleasant and seems very dedicated to the suceess his patients. He stresses up front how important follow up care, eating correctly and exercising are after surgery. Dr. Hendrick always says that "once you become his patient, you are his patient for life". My first impression of Dr. Hendrick is that I Am In Good Hands! The staff at CORI are also very knowledgeable, hard working, and supportive. It has been 10 days since I've had my surgery and I am doing great with no problems at all! (Praise God)!!!! I feel secure that I have made the right choice choosing CORI (Centers for Obesity Related Illness)! :)

He was very informative and made you very comfortable.

Not yet!!

GREAT!!! My patient coordinator is terriffic! The office staff is awesome as well...great so far!

Be prepared to make the commitment to the procedure and yourself! WALK ONE MILE PER DAY!
He did speak about follow-up care and it's importance!

Yes.
There was a long meeting with a group, he went throughly through every aspect of the surgery and I was very comfortable with the information provided.
Impressed! Not stand-offish and very approachable.
Both very good.

I liked him from the very begining he was very friendly and gave me lots of information. He did not rush through the consult and he answered all of my questions.

No my impression has not changed.

The office staff was very helpful and made me feel comfortable.

The after care program so far has been a one week follow up for staple removal ans a consult with the nutritionist. A one month follow up for weigh in. the next visit is in 3 months to check out my labs bloodwork and weighin. If I need anything they say I can call anytime there is a 24/7 number and a doctor will call back.

Yes the risks of the surgery were addressed and there was a little quiz after the consult to make sure you really understood

Overall I would grade my surgeon a A+

Surgical competence is the best

I liked Dr. Hendrick, he had a sense of humor
and explained the whole procedure and after care, and possible complications. His office staff was helpful and seemed concerned.

I haven't spoke to him since my initial consultation, and I hope I will see him before my surgery.

Cori has a structured aftercare system.

Dr. Hendrick did tell the risks of the surgery and what to expect.

I would rate him an 8 so far.

I believe the surgical compitence is more important, hopefully the bedside manner will match, (it puts the patient at ease if he has a good bedside manner.)

First impression, very nice, informative. He seemed very genuine and eased my mind.

The staff is helpful and easy going. I didn't feel like a new customer.

I felt very comfortable with Dr. Hendrick the moment I met him. He had jokes! His since of humor eased the tension I was feeling. Tension because I wasn't yet qualified as a candidate for the surgery. But I had tunnel vision, that all I wanted for Christmas:-))

He was very knowledgable and eager to share it.
It was evident he really believed in this radical surgery to improve the quality of my life and my family's.

He was very through in his presentationof the procedure and very patient with the questions my husband had. My only question was, "How soon
can I have the surgery?"

Two weeks later, Dr. Hendrick was dressed in his scrubs giving me some last bits of info. and making sure I was comfortable before my life changing surgery.

After surgery, my husband was very pleased that Dr. Hendrick took the time to explain all the details.

My third visit with Dr. Hendrick was the day of discharge. He stressed walking as much as possible.

Thus, I shouldn't have been surprised that he blamed my lack of walking for the scales showing only a 9 lb. weight reduction.

I was very pleased with Dr. Hendrick and would refer him to all who are thinking of this radical procedure.

Dr. Hendrick is so kind, patient, caring, compassionate, and HONEST. I really appreciated that he took a long and thourough time with me. I went to him with two pages of typed questions and he answered them all before I even asked. I am feeling very confident with him as my surgeon. Also his office staff at the Clinton Township CORI office were fantastic as well. Amanda, Clara, and Tina, were all very pleasant and friendly, and very welcoming. I am feeling very confident in the decision I have made in choosing CORI and Dr. Hendrick, he knows his business. I trust him, after all this is my life here, and I feel I am placing it into good hands.

Dr. Hendrick is relatively new to CORI, my visit with him was great. I feel very good about him being my surgeon. He went out of his way to meet with me. Good listener. Spent lots of time with me.
