Dr. Poplawski has a very nice relaxed no nonsense way about him ... during the seminar I loved how he made eye contact .. very straight forward and to the point. I'm am so pleased that I found him and the Barix team ... just waiting on a date for me to go for surgery now !

My first impression of Dr. Pop was he was pretty straight forward and definately said it like it is. He was very serious about what he does and expects his patients to do their best at losing weight prior to surgery and living the new lifestyle change. He always answered all my questions and I felt totally comfortable with the decision of choosing him for a surgeon. My very first big Ah ha moment with Dr. Pop was right before surgery when the nurses told me that he had closed up the 2 people prior to me. At first that made me nervous. Thinking oh my god getting to this point and then not having it happened. But it also made me realize he was an expert and would take no risks. So, although it was my first surgery ever and I was extremely nervous. I felt comfortable knowing that I was in the best hands possible. I would rate Dr. Pop a 10 without a doubt.

dr. pop was professional, friendly. no question was stupid. as he was my second surgeon, i was a bit leary about the whole procedure again. dr. joffe in scarborough had done my surgery in 95 and i lost virtuaooy no weight. i was so sick infection from the incision, i was mess. my stay at the barix clinic compared to my time at scarborough cannot be compared. this time thee was no infection, no sickness, i threw up constantly. dr. pop removed all the scar tissue. my scar now isa fine line compared to the 3 inch scar from dr. joffe. i am not sorry to hear dr. joffe is no longer o[erating. and a very special thank you to all at barix clinic for making me feel very special :)))

Dr. Pop is fantastic. He is like a firm father figure. He knows his stuff and is very professional, yet caring. He speaks his mind - and doesn't cushion things because he worries that he might hurt your feelings! He is a straight shooter.

I am very glad that I found Dr. Pop. He looked after me and has set me on the road to success!

I do wish that his practice did a better job of differentiating between Rny and VSG. All of the nutrition classes and instructions are Rny based. Other surgeons in the practice don't even mention VSG as an option to patients. I think this is a disservice to all patients at the clinic.

Dr. Pop and all the staff at Barix Clinic in Ypsilanti are great. I have had my consultaion and now my PATS are complete and my sugery is set for June 25th. I've been given loads of information and tools to make my sugury a sucess. Dr. Pop has explained the challenge I will be facing as my sugury will be harder since I am having a revsion of a previous sugery I had in the early 80's but the I am willing to take this risk to improve the quality of my life. I feel I am in very capable hands and am confident that with the support I have seen and experienced from the Barix clinc I will suceed.

Put simply, Dr. Pop, as we call him, is the best bariatric surgeon around. He really cares about his patients and their health. I would not have gone to anyone else. I love ya', Dr. Pop!!! You have given me the tool to get my life back!!!

I loved him right away. He began his orientation by telling us that the surgery is not a magic bullet and success will depend on changing our thinking about our old eating habits.

He is very personable and friendly. I have only had one follow up visit with him so far, so we'll see!!

I did experience some depression the first week after my surgery and no one really addressed this possibility with me. It would have been helpful to have been prepared for that ahead of time.

I am having my surgery on 23-03-09. I have met with Dr.Pop in Nov and found him to be very friendly,he went through the op and answered all my questions. He will take the time and not rush you.All the dealings that I have had with his staff have left me with a good impression.

My first impression was that Dr. Pop was honest, straight to the point and wasn't trying to do a sell job...on me, he was there to answer questions, inform me of the procedure and complications. His staff were lovely, Dr. Pop is honest, and nice, he is the type of person that is to the point and it is important for him that you find out why you have an eating disorder in addition to this surgery which is just a tool.
