Steven Ryder Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

My first impression of Dr. Steven Ryder is that he is very down to earth. To me it felt as if he is very considerate of those of us that are considering a new lease on life. His is a very informative man and was straight forward with me regarding his background in this surgery. I can tell that he has a good bedside manor and truly cares about his patients. This is a good thing now-a-days because all too often do we run into those providers that are truly there for you to pay their house or car payment which is usually 3 times or more what mine is. Anyway, I would recomend Dr. Ryder to anyone for any type of surgical consult at this time because he knows what he is talking about. I, of course, can't forget to mention his FABULOUS nurse, Michelle, of whom is the sweetest thing on this planet. I enjoy talking with her and she is always in a great mood. Dr. Ryder and Michelle deal with many insurance companies with their patients and I found that my expertise of my insurance (since I work for them and know what to ask) and their expertise on the provider end definately matched. Michelle is very helpful in this process and have to say that Dr. Ryder's success as a surgeon definately relies upon Michelle! Good job to both of you and Thank you with all my heart!

He's so cute. Honestly he has a great bedside manor. He really cares and listens very well, and responds very quickly with any problems you are having. First his nurse was thourough in explaining the ups and downs of the proceedure, then he was thourough in explaining the proceedure. His nurse Michelle is the GREATEST nurse in the whole world. The receptionists are very pleasant and they let me now right away if he was running signifigantly late. I like everything about Dr. Ryder, and his nurse Michelle.

I didn't ever feel like he saw me as some FAT person like you do in some Dr.'s offices. He was just so caring and understanding and non-judgemental.

Their structure of the program was terrific. They have it down to a science.

He's a master at all he does! Both bedside manner and competency.

I feel my only negitive experience was with the night nurses in my post-op stay.

Dr. Ryder may be feel at ease from the get-go. He's very knowledgeable and very well-respected in the medical community. His nurse, Michelle is just as wonderfu.

I liked Dr. Ryder the moment I met him.He answered my questions I thought very honestly and up frontHe was very good with my husband and sister that were waiting by sending word that it was taking longer than expected but that everything was alright That he'd be out after to explain all to them. Which he did. I only saw him twice my 2and a half days in the hospital,Bust I could here the nurses speaking to him aleast three times a day that he would call in to check on me.He was always possitive and full of information when I saw him making sure I understood everythin and was comfortable about it. There wasn't anything I didn't like about him. I'd say his skills as a surgen and his bed side manner are equal

I think that Dr. Ryder and his nurse, Michelle were sent from God. They both answered all of my questions before I even had a chance to ask them. I have only had my first consult with him, but look forward to meeting with both of them again.

He is a very kind, friendly and young doctor. I was impressed by his care and concern about his patients. His nurse is just as caring and willing to work with the patients. I like the fact that Michelle(his nurse)attends the support groups and runs them for us.

Dr. Ryder was very calm, educated, and professional. He immediately had me at ease and trusting him.

His Nurse Michelle is absolutely fabulous! So caring, patient, and determined with other doctors and insurance. She never let anyone slide on anything!

Dr. Ryder is a general surgeon who specializes in laproscopic surgery. From everyone I spoke to that had any surgery from him- he is wonderful and has earned a great reputation from his clients and collegues.

The wls program is just starting here, so we are winging as we go. We are trying to start a support group before June 10. He is doing the first two surgeries in the area (one being mine) on June 10. (He has done the surgery before- just not here) He knows the ins and outs- the risks and benefits and talks clearly about all. The aftercare is being structured now- but all of it is being done thoroughly.

On a scale of 1-10 he gets an 11. Surgical skill, bedside manner... he seems to have it all!

P.S. He is not paying me to say this, I started journey at a btc center and left horribly dissatisfied! I am NO push-over. He just really is THAT good.
