Dr. Sherman is a has a very good bedside mannor. He is very caring and concerned with the wellbeing of his patients. He has a very large team of other Dr.s that make rounds on a regular basis at the hospital keeping tabs on you.

My doc was and is great. He is young. He was just featured on fox news (you can see it on website). rnrnThe staff is great. They are very informative.rnrnThey are all on top of you for making sure you have all your appointments for the next year before you leave the hospital.rnrn! out of 10 I would say 8 (just cause hes the only one I have had this much experience with)rnrnThe only thing that I can say that was weird was he really tried to get me to understand that I might want a rny. But, I had my mind made up and liking the decision so far.

Sherman, Vadim (Houston, TX) Dr. Sherman and his staff are great. They make you feel like they care about the total person. Dr. Sherman has alot of interns that he trains and that was the only kink i was not comfortable with but it did not bother me much. The office took care of all the insurance issues and I had no problems. Sometimes they can be a little slow when returning phone calls. I hope by now they have worked out those issues. I had my surgery at St Lukes and my experience was wonderful. When I told the doc I wanted a VSG he was suprised. He did mention the RNY but I insisted on the VSG. I think he would agree now that this was the right procedure for me. He even told me to slow down with the weight loss and that I had two years to lose all of my excess weight. I have lost 82 lbs in 9 months...it has slowed a bit but it is still coming off. I wear a size 10 in jeans and med and large tops. I have recommended Dr Sherman to two of my co-workers...that is how much confidence I have in the man and his staff. The after care program is very comprehensive and covers every aspect of the weight loss journey. I do wonder why his office does not post the VSG as a surgery choice on his page. I am so happy I did not get the RNY or the lapband procedures...I love my VSG! Thanks Dr. Sherman.

The first time I went to the Baylor Clinic, my appointment was to see Dr. Sweeny. Dr Sherman was there but he had just started at the clinic. My plan was to have gastric bypass. My insurance required that I be on a 6 month physician supervised wt loss program prior to filing for approval. As I was going through this, I had time to do more research and of course soul searching and decided that the lap-band would be best for me. When my 6 month program was completed, the nurse at Baylor let me know that Dr. Sherman was doing lap-band procedures as well. So, I made an appointment to see him. It took me a few moments to make the connection that I had met him before. The first time I saw him was in July of 2006 and here I was in February of 2007. My dad was with me at this appointment and he asked a lot of questions about the difference between the bypass and the band. He answered all of his questions and I was very comfortable with him. I had my lap-band procedure 4/27/07. Everyone at the Baylor Clinic and been extremly helpful with every process I had to go through. I feel that Dr. Sherman is sincerly concerned about my well being which made me feel more comfortable with him. He had always stressed to me that the band is a tool and not a fix and that I must continue to watch what types of food I eat. He also stressed the importance of an exercise program. I have never felt rushed in and out of the office. Dr. Sherman always sits down and talks to me and listens to what I have to say.rnDr. Sherman and the nurses with the bariatrics program are all just great. Baylor is a teaching facility so there are usually students there during appointments...took a bit to get used to that but it's not a big deal now...
