Vishnudas Panemanglore Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

Dr. P has been such a wonderful help. He was the speaker at my orientation and I immediately felt comfortable with him. He has a great sense of humor and bed-side manner. He tells it like it is. He makes me and my family feel comfortable every time I see him. He's given me a new life after surgery and I can't thank him enough.

My first impression of Dr. Panemanglore was that he was very knowledgable about the RNY procedure. He explained it very plainly and in terms that were easy to understand. He was a bit short with my significant other, who had accompanied me to the intial meeting to ask some questions of his own. Dr. P was, however, polite. I have enjoyed meeting his office staff, several of which have been through the WLS experience themselves and were happy to share. Dr. P addressed and explained all the risks of the surgery. He did focus on the possibility of clots forming and suggestd a filter be inserted prior to surgery. I was fine with the procedure after he showed and explained what it entailed.
As I haven't had the surgery yet (2 months away), I will revise this at a later date.

Update: I am now over a month post-op and I must say I have the same opinion of Dr. P.

Dr. P as I like to call him because I can't pronounce his mane, lol... was my instant 1st choice. He was the surgeon at the Orientation back in May and I immediately felt as ease with him and he is just very caring and explains everything to you and answers any and all questions you have. I have nothing negative to say about him... he has treated me with respect and kindness...

I first met Dr. P @ a conference that we had to go to before anything else could happen in the surgery. I thought he was a kind, smart, safisticated gentleman. Once I got to work one on one with Dr. P he was very laid back and has a great sense of humor, but don't let all that fool you because he will tell you how it is and when he knows your coming up with excuses too. He has great caring office staff who is always there to help you. I can't say that there is anything I didn't like about Dr. P. Dr. P made sure you understood everything about 10 times before surgery would even happen and even before surgery went over everything again. He is very precise about everything because he wants to make sure your safe at all costs. I find his work to be over a 10 on my scale and would recomend him to anyone!

I liked Dr. Panemanglore's sense of humor and the no nonsense way he explained everything. First impression, he's cute. I hope he only looks younger than he is so he has lots of experience. The staff at the office is wonderful. They explain everything and answer questions, at least they answer the ones I remember to ask. I have to start making a list of my questions.

His scheduling assistant/nurse/office manager Kim was the best.rnrnMy surgical experience although coupled with some unexpected complications was handled wonderfully by Dr. P. who made sure all the appropriate specialists were called to see me, etc. If it had not been from the complications which had nothing to do with the actual WLS and the fact that I had seven steri strips on my abdomin I would have questioned whether or not the surgery had been done.rnrnI look forward to my continued journey with Dr. P. and his group. He along with his staff and PA's are at the top of my list.rnrnEllis Hospital is very fortunate to have such a great and caring clinician as part of their team.

This Doctor affiliated with the Ellis Hospital Bariatric Center in Schenectady, NY. He was very calming the day my surgery. I would recommend him to anyone that is considering WLS.

I liked Dr. Panemanglore when I first met him at my initial consult in his office. My impression of him has remained the same. The office staff was very cooperative and there to answer any questions I had. I have told friends about the wonderful care I had with the Doctor and his staff. The risks of surgery were addressed at all prior appointments with the Doctor. I would rate the Bariatric Staff at Ellis Hospital very highly. Dr Panemanglore gets high marks for his competence and his bedside manner. I felt well taken care of.rnrnI had no negative experiences with the Doctor or the proceedure. The hospital staff was attentive and very professional.
