Vivek Prachand Bariatric Surgeon M.D.,F.A.C.S.

Dr. Prachand is really a great doctor. He is very positive, answered every question I had and I didn't feel any doubt about his skills. His office is in the University of Chicago hopital. His staff is very knowledgeable and are very particular in following their before and after care. He is very straight forward about the risks and what will happen if you don't follow his plan. It was very easy to call his staff and other doctors associated with Dr. P after my surgery even when I had little questions about aches and pains. I give my Doctor and his staff a 9.99! :D

One note: I would like to see a better follow up program for post ops. They do have support meetings, but I would rather see more resources for vitamin regimes, where to buy vits and proteins, and maybe more info on the types of proteins that are best suited for our new lives, and more resources for support like OH.

My first impression of Dr. Prachand was what a kind and caring doctor. Dr. Prachand is very soft spoken and has ezcellant bed-side manner. He reassured my mother and other family members when they met him the day of surgery. Dr. Prachand makes sure you know how important aftercare is in order have suggessful results. Dr. Prachand explained the risk of the surgery and recommened the one he thought would work best for me. All I can say is he was correct. The most valuable information he gave me was concerning what could happen when I returned to work. It was a bit difficult to asdjust to my new way of eating when I returned to work. I waould rate Dr.Prachand A+,

My surgeon was straight forward about the surgery, he cover all my answers before I got a chance to ask them, he told me the good and the bad about the surgery, he told me he was very confident with performing my surgery.

That he was younger than I thought he would be.rnHe is very knowledgeable and I have found him in several publications.rnThe staff is great! You know that they are behind you 100%.rnNothing. Although we differed on my procedure, he let me make my own choice.rnThat he is a very supportive surgeon.rnHe stresses it all the time.rnYes.rnHe went over all of the risks.rnAn 8.rnJune is his scheduling coordinator. She is the best. I would call almost everyday and she never got an attitude. rnrn

My surgeon Dr Prachand was very proffesional, patient, and kind. His partner Dr Peirce that covered for him over the weekend while I was in the hospital was extremely nice. He took the time to ask and answer all my questions. He was also very nice to look at!!! LOL

my first impression was that he was very sensitive and was intrested in the well being of his patients long term and not just until suregery is over .i was fully prepared and informed and loved the fact that they take a team approach on along term basis with each patient.

Dr. Prachand was very easy to talk to. I expected more of a stuffy type but thank goodness he wasn't! I walked in there knowing I wanted a RNY but he thinks DS would be better for me, not sure yet.

HE IS VERY RELAXED A GOOD LISTENER AND HE'S CUTE TO

Dr. Prachnad is a wonderful doctor. He is very informative, professional, and personable. The staff is great, if they don't have the answer at their finger tips they will find the correct one and call you right back.

I was really impressed with Dr Prachand, he gave me all information the risks, and what he thought would be best for me. His approach regarding aftercare made me feel relaxed, knowing that he will follow me for the rest of my life, to ensure everything continues to work as intended.

I would give the University of Chicago Hospital Team a score of 10 for professionalism, and for the time and attention that they share with their patients. At University of Chicago Hospital you a individual not a slab of meat with dollars signs written all over you.
