Walter Medlin Bariatric Surgeon

Dr. Medlin was really great! The first time I met him was at a pre-op appointment. He himself has had Gastric Sleeve so I find that even more comforting that he knows a little more first hand how gastric surgeries are as a patient. The staff was excellent- especially the first night when they keep you in 24 hour care. They were so friendly and quick to answer to call nurse button. Dr. Medlin seems like a very busy surgeon but that also is comforting in a strange way because if he wasnt great people wouldnt be pulling him in all directions lol :P Overall I would definiely recomment St Mary's Duluth Hospital and Dr. Medlin to anyone looking for a surgeon in the area! It was a great experience.

Dr. Medlin is a wonderful doctor not only with his medical skills but also with bedside mannor. He is open and very realistic with wieght loss struggles. I highly reccomend Dr. Medlin for anyone considering this surgery.

I liked him instantly...I found him very honest and funny and I was instantly comfortable. He is very approachable. The office staff was also very friendly and helpful. He was quite honest about the risks of the surgery and he gave me the stats on his experience etc...
