Wayne Schwesinger Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Schwesinger was very nice, and to the point. He made sure I knew what I was doing, and was aware of my options. He let me know up front what tests I would have to do, and how many other appointments I would have to make. The front desk girls are rude every time I talk to them, but I figure they have a lot of people harassing them for appointments all day. Denise and Debbie are AWESOME!! Denise is his nurse, and Debbie is the care coordinator. Both ladies are extremely helpful, and sooo nice!

5-3-04......Ok...Dr. Schwesinger was great. He is very conservative but very informative and forward with his information. I asked him a question and he told it like it was. Loved it!! The office was very nice and well organized. He also had an adorable intern in the room with him who took my info down before Dr. S even came in the room. =) The whole experience made me feel at ease and confident in having Dr. Schwesinger as my physician. Also, Debbie Coy, his insurance person, is AWESOME!! She is so sweet and makes you feel like your someone special. She's a great and special person herself!!

This is my comments on Dr. Wiltse in Wylie, TX...I'm not going there now but he's still a good doctor and man. It was an insurance glitch or I would have already had my surgery with him:
Well I have only met Dr. Wiltse once which was during my consultation. I really don't have anything bad to say. He was great. He was informative, answered every single question I had (and I brought a typed out list) so believe me there were plenty.=) He had a great personality and was joking around with me and made me feel at ease. Of course he had no choice with a person like me, I wouldn't stand for a shy guy. I'd keep egging him on til he opened up. But with him I didn't have to. I'm sure I'll have more to say once I have my surgery and get to see him again.

my first impression of my Dr. was His going to be very hard nose and strict very square.
My impression of him changed after my first 10 minutes with him he is very understandable and to the point no going in circles with him. I like that about a person to be very straight forward and to the point. HIs office staff was very nice to me and they really worked around my schedule and not there's. When you first meet him you won't like him but he is very sweet and nice be patient with him.
He let me know about the risk of this surgery which I already knew I had done my homework for over a year. but he was straight forward and to th point.
I'm not sure which was better I think they were both great bedside and surgical copetence.
The only negative thing to say about him is that he does make you wait a long time in the waiting room.

He is an excellent surgeon. He went over every detail and answered all of my questions. I have had to call him a few times concerning some minor problems and he answered or called me back right away. His staff are very helpful considering they are very busy they will explain or answere any of your questions with no attitude problems. The nurses are also very helpful and patient with you and take the time it needs for you to understand if you don't.
There isn't much to say about what I disliked about him or his staff they have been excellent with me.
Aftercare he is the same as before He will stress out to you about how important it is to follow the rules.
The risk of surgery was explained to me with no hidden or soften words he came right out and told me what to expect and explained the same to my husband.
Over all I would rate him a 9.
He is a little serious type person but his bedside could use a little more work.

My first impression of Dr Schwesinger was that he was very knowledable of the procedure and very professional. My opinion has not changed since the first time I met him.
His staff are polite,friendly and very caring people.
The main thing I like about him is he is so caring of his patients the day after my surgery He didn't come see me. But he sent his residents to see me since he was sick (I have seen drs do rounds and not be well, which is not good for a fresh post-op).

He doesnt much speak of after care- however he does emphasize lots of walking.

Dr Schwesinger told me point blank without beating around the bush all possible risks of the surgery.

Well since I am a medical professional I prefer any surgeon that sees me has both good bedside manners and surgical competence.
Which I hope he is competent I have heard he is Chief of Surgery for the University hospital.

My first impression and still is that my Doctor was very friendly. Not a fancy office, but staff was very friendly. The waiting time with other surgeons was almost 2 years. But when i found out about Dr S, I called and my waiting time was less than 8 months from first phone call. I would give him a 10. Surgical competence is better, but the doctor was great in all aspects.

Dr. S is very serious and does not have much to say unless you ask him specific questions. However he is a very nice man and I feel he is very cautious with his patients and understanding. His office staff is wonderful. I have never had to wait very long in the office. Debbie Coy the patient care coordinator is a dream come true. She handled everything for me, I never had to talk to insurance at all. My surgery is scheduled for Jan 24th and I had my pre-op on the 14th. Everything is going smoothly so far.

Met with Dr. Schwesinger on November 5th for Surgical Consult. Absolutely loved his mannerism, professionalism and his office staff. Very helpful and supportive.

Met with his associate & nurtritionist, Dr. Dent, on November 14th. What a breath of fresh air to meet with someone who actually acknowledges & insists that my weight problem does not make me a failure! This appointment also served as the Second Opinion for Insurance.

I am really pleased with my surgeon cause he aanswered any questions I had and I would recommend him to anybody who is thinking about this type of surgery also you have to go thru a screening process cause he want to be thorough so as a candidate you wont be in any of harms way I have been pleased with him and the surgical team that toook care of me ........ thanks guys I am on my way to a better quality of life Thanks and may God Bless you doctors

My first impression was high for Dr. Schwesinger!! He was so informative and very precise about the procedure. His manner was excellent and answered all my questions I had quite extensively. I am looking forward to the surgery and have even spoke to his patients in the waiting room and they too feel very confident with him and the results of his patients are fantastic!! The clinic is wonderful especially the Managed Care Coordinator Debbie Coy!! She has been there with me every stepof the way and smooths over any bumps that may come along. I recommend this doctor to anyone wanting this procedure.
